Lee’s veterinarian turned to vetiqure’s Tumor Specific Electroporation (TSE) technology as a precise, non-surgical option. 👉 FLEXIBILITY, VERSATILITY & CREATIVITY 👈 Not all spinal cord compressions share the same pathophysiology, and it's essential to remain flexible in adjusting surgical techniques to the specific condition of each animal. Meet Mia, a 6-year-old spayed female #French #bulldog with a 4-week history of progressive spinal pain and ataxia. Myelo-CT revealed bilateral spinal cord compression caused by fibrous, calcified soft tissue originating from the annulus fibrosus in a collapsed disc space of a #hemivertebra. To relieve the compression, bilateral minihemilaminectomies were performed, and all compressive tissue was resected. To prevent instability, 8 cortical screws were placed in the pedicles of the adjacent vertebrae, with their heads embedded in PMMA. Four months post-surgery, Mia has returned to her normal activity with no signs of discomfort. Other techniques may have been suitable for this case, but it is crucial to use those you are most comfortable with.
