A Newcastle-based startup, EM ENERGY, is set to revolutionize green hydrogen production thanks to funding from the NSW Government’s MVP Ventures Program. EM Energy's Organic Hydrogen Electrolyser Cell (OHEC) technology generates green hydrogen from organic waste without the need for energy or heat, aiming to replace fossil fuel-derived hydrogen. The $50,000 MVP grant will help patent this innovation internationally, potentially opening new investment avenues. Molten Industries has raised $25 million for their methane pyrolysis technology. 💵 The Oakland, CA-based startup splits methane into 2 parts - graphite for use in lithium batteries and hydrogen for use in heavy industry decarbonization. This process uses renewable energy, ensuring a small carbon footprint. The methane too is sustainably sourced from things like dairy farms or waste streams. 🌽 The round was led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, and also included Sozo Ventures, Mark Heising, Steelhead Capital Management, Union Square Ventures, 50 Years, J4.Ventures, Moai Capital, UVC Partners, Jane Woodward, and Peter Attia.
