I've often been described as "determined." In fact, this word has appeared in nearly every performance review I've received—and even in my husband's wedding speech! Recently, I've been reflecting on what sparked this (clearly) dominant personality trait. A standout moment was during my Year 8 parents' evening when my Science teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. At the time, I hadn't given it much thought, so I offered a generic and slightly uninspiring answer. His response was simple but impactful: "Aim higher… you might just get there." Science didn’t turn out to be my strong point, but that sentiment has stayed with me ever since. This is why I'm so passionate about the Pearson English Language Teacher Awards launching today. It’s not just a great marketing initiative (credit to the amazing Thomas Gardner Sophie Quarterman) but also a chance to recognize and celebrate the incredible role teachers play in shaping lives. It’s true what they say—a great teacher makes all the difference! Nominate your teacher, a peer, or an inspiring ELL educator you know today: https://lnkd.in/eH2tXTkQ And if you don’t work in the English Language Learning world, I’d love to hear your stories on how great teachers have inspired you! #Education #TeachingHeroes #LanguageLearning #PearsonEnglishTeacherAward #PearsonLanguages

Learning is a lifelong process. If I could imagine any sphere of life at all where you can learn a skill once and just use it forever with no need of change or improvement, a foreign language would never be the one! Changes happen in every aspect of a language, as well as approaches to learning and teaching it. #learning #motivation #englishteacher

We are always open and always working. This half term we have been reworking our Intermediate Olympics unit (alongside other things!) We are always working on our units and materials to ensure they are the very best they can be, creating first-rate learning experiences for both staff and pupils in class. This is not a new unit but we have updated the images and activities to ensure everything we offer is of the highest standards. Some schools will have planned to use this as a full unit but other schools have the option to dip in and out in addition to their planned foreign language lessons. Enabling more opportunities for extra cross-curricular activities. Everything we offer is to ensure a whole school approach to foreign language learning. Exciting, engaging material that ties in with other areas of the primary curriculum whenever possible. Always mindful of the workload for staff so everything we offer is fully planned and resourced. Based on methodology and pedagogy that works and produces real outcomes. We hope you enjoy! #languageangels #edtech #education #primaryeducation #primary #primaryschool #primaryschooleducation #primaryschoolteacher #teacher #leaders #leadership #headteachers #subjectleaders #teachers #teach #teaching #teachingresources #teachingmaterials #teachersfollowteachers #teachersoflinkedin
