Offshore Wind Growth Partnership ’s Post

🌟 Feel Good Friday🌟 We hope you’ll join us in celebrating the success of our beneficiary, Sealand Projects Ltd as they share the positive results of their Decarbonisation of Offshore Wind Vessel Traffic project! 🌊 Their cutting-edge software helps analyse vessel data from offshore wind farms to estimate carbon footprints and fuel consumption within 15% of actual usage! Here’s how their innovative software can help operators uncover critical insights to accelerate decarbonisation efforts: 🚢 Reducing transport speed (from port to offshore windfarm): Reducing transit speeds by just 5 knots can save up to 500 tonnes of CO2e annually, depending on the site. 📅 Smarter planning: Improved weather planning, maintenance scheduling and reducing workdays can save 10,000-20,000 litres of fuel and cut CO2 emissions by up to 50 tonnes! ⚙️Engine optimisation: Utilising vessels with ~1000kW engines instead of ~2000kW where possible can lead to over 50% reduction of fuel use and therefore carbon emissions. ⏱️ Time saving tweaks: Reducing transfer time by 30 mins per workday can lead to an 8%-15% reduction in fuel consumption. This project demonstrates what’s possible with smart tech, efficient operations, and a commitment to decarbonisation. Congratulations to the team at Sealand Projects! #FeelGoodFriday #Sustainability #OffshoreWind #Innovation #Decarbonisation
