In AutoSIM 200, a pneumatic single-acting cylinder operates by simulating the use of compressed air to move a piston in one direction. The software models how air is supplied through a port to push the piston, extending the piston rod to perform tasks like lifting or pushing. When the air pressure is released in the simulation, a return spring mechanism brings the piston back to its original position, retracting the rod.
