I am excited to share my latest article, "Unpacking Parco Agricolo Sud through a socio-spatial production perspective," published in the Italian Class A academic journal Territorio. It reports some of my initial doctoral research work carried out in Milan, specifically in the South Milan Agricultural Park. This paper is part of a collection of eight articles entitled "Beyond Eboli—issues of rural order," curated by Antonio di Campli and Chiara Nifosì. https://lnkd.in/dCuTxJgd

Our key publications in 2023-24 include the book 'Economic Change in the Lower Cauvery Delta' and a series of tributes to M.S. Swaminathan in Review of Agrarian Studies (13,2). 'Economic Change in the Lower Cauvery Delta', the latest addition to our Agrarian Studies Series, discusses the manifold stresses on the socio-economic fabric of the region with the decline of the delta as a hub of rice cultivation. The book also analyses other dimensions of agrarian change in the region – in employment and incomes, the forms of credit in operation, education, sanitation, and housing. The RAS (13,2), a special issue of our peer-reviewed open-access journal was also published during this period. The main highlight of this issue is the Tribute Section, which features twenty articles by renowned agricultural scientists, and social scientists, among others paying respect to Professor M.S. 👉 New Publication: Lessons learned from Switzerland's agricultural policy In a new article published in the journal Bio-based and Applied Economics, we have described the history and current state of Swiss agricultural policy, reviewed evaluations of agricultural policy instruments in Switzerland, and summarized their policy implications. Here is some more detail: postponing the adoption of technology is costly. The technology of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) has been technically available decades ago; however, it´s adoption has been limited due to political reasons resulting in lengthy regulatory process, which slows down the R&D transfer and affects agricultural productivity and food security. Our study projected the impact of R&D transfer speed up and relaxation of regulatory framework on agricultural productivity and food security towards 2050. It also allows to assess important geopolitical consequences of regulatory framework adjustment. Speeding up R&D transfer could bring over 200 billion US$ globally expressed as NPV of GDP benefits.
