MrProblem G – Giving Voice to the Unvoiced’s Post

The UK gambling industry, a £15.1 billion giant, is booming, with online revenue growth at an alarming 7.4% and a staggering £972.5 million spent on advertising while entertaining millions. But for those trapped in addiction, it's a nightmare. Compulsive gambling is a silent crisis. Recent figures from the Gambling Commission suggest that the number of adults in Great Britain experiencing problem gambling could be as high as 2.5%, or approximately 1.3 million individuals – a far cry from the previously reported 0.3%. We're a community empowering those harmed by gambling to take back control. Our Focus: Data-Driven Advocacy: We're gathering data to expose how the industry profits from the most vulnerable – the 5% of gamblers who generate 60% of their revenue. Industry Accountability: We're pushing operators to uphold their responsibility, not just pay lip service. While the Department for Culture, Media & Sport's (DCMS) white paper on gambling reform is a step in the right direction, it falls short of implementing robust measures to protect vulnerable players. The current proposals lack the teeth necessary to effectively address the root causes of gambling harm and ensure a truly safe and fair gambling environment for all. Why Now? Lobbying is strong, political ties run deep. But lives are at stake. Gambling-related suicides are a daily occurrence, with countless more suffering in silence. We can't wait for change to trickle down. Your Voice Matters: We need YOUR data, YOUR stories to amplify this fight. If you're ready to reclaim your power, join us. Together, we can create a safer, fairer gambling industry. #ProblemGamblerGuide #GamblingReform #WhitePaper Gambling with Lives GambleAware
