When artificial intelligence is developed with understanding and intention, we create space for radical change. The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation’s partnership enables TIP Global Health to expand access to health resources in underserved communities by supporting the development of an AI framework leveraging point-of-care data to deliver predictive insights that improve maternal and child health outcomes in East Africa. This demonstrates AI’s promise to strengthen digital health systems, improving the well-being of our world. 🗣️ "The more people know about health data use, the less they fear. The less they know, the more they fear." This quote from the TEHDAS2 research group perfectly introduces the symposium organized by Université Toulouse Capitole et l'IRDEIC. Nathalie De Grove Valdeyron opened the event by explaining the EHDS. ❓ **Why?** To establish European governance of health data and create large health databases for innovative treatments. ⚙️ **How?** Through the alignment of EU competencies and laws. 📝 **Goals:** 1️⃣ Use of primary health data. 2️⃣ Use of secondary health data, diverse and still needing clarity. 🔍 **Responsibilities:** Organizations must manage health data access and ensure data holders comply with regulations. She concluded with the challenges, such as integrating existing laws. Next, Markus Kalliola from the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra presented the TEHDAS2 joint action on the use of secondary health data. Yiannis Tolias then detailed the AI Act and its integration with the EHDS. Anne-Sophie Hulin compared Quebecois and European governance approaches, encouraging transatlantic dialogue. #HealthData #EHDS #Innovation #DataGovernance #AI #BigData 📊📜

I read and analyze hundreds of news pieces and announcements about digital health and AI per week on average. I usually add context for the news articles I publish to aid in their understanding, but it got me thinking: How can I assist those whose job is not analyzing news but want to get an understanding of how to determine whether an article or press release matches the expectations of the future of digital health? So I came up with the "Digital Health Bingo"! If two of the six statements below are true for your announcement, article, or press release you are reading, then it is aligned with the direction digital health is moving. Simple, right?
