As the International Quantum Circuit (#iqc25) kicks off on its way to a championship round at QUANTATHONV2 in the Fall, here's a quick update on the first Quantathon from October. Spoiler alert: opportunities are still opening for participants! = = = = =  QUANTATHONV1 winners, Q-RNJesus, are building an open-source solution to enhance QRNG output quality through innovative processing. See their work and milestones: https://lnkd.in/gJrqceFB The team secured both the DoraHacks Challenge and the Grand Prize at QUANTATHONV1, developed by SC Quantum. They then went on to receive a $2,000 NISQ Quantum Grant to advance the work they undertook in Columbia. This grant, a long-term DoraHacks initiative, aims to drive #quantumcomputing #innovation during the NISQ era. New project "Quantum Repeater.Net (QR.N)" launched! 🚀 Huge consortium including Berlin universities and research institutions (Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI, Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin & Technische Universität Berlin) starts research project on #quantum #repeaters as key components for future quantum networks and secured communication. Quantum Computing promises exponential speedup in the computational capabilities for certain types of problems. However, due to the limited capacity of the current generation of NISQ devices, practically useful applications are not feasible. The leaders of the International Council of Quantum Industry Associations (ICQIA) partners, composed of the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC), Quantum Industry Canada, the Quantum STrategic industry Alliance for Revolution(Q-STAR), and QED-C®, convened in person during Q-Expo to discuss several topics of common interest. The work meeting allowed the global industry leaders to advance collaborative projects, notably the development of global value chain landscapes in quantum computing and quantum-secure communication. The discussions reinforced the Council’s commitment to innovation and growth in the quantum industry. #quantum #Quantumindustry

Quantum technology in the Netherlands

The world's first transistor, developed at Bell Labs in 1947, marked the inaugural utilization of #quantum mechanics in technology. Now, there’s trillions of transistors in one room. It's likely that the Bell Labs team, at the time of the transistor's creation, could not have foreseen the extent to which their invention would transform the world in the ensuing 75 years. While quantum tech is still in its early years, the potential is already enormous.  Who knows what the future will hold for quantum technologies? We are thrilled to celebrate the potential and global progress of quantum technology today on #WorldQuantumDay! 🌎
