Did you know that under Israeli military law, Palestinians are not allowed to collect and use rainwater, neither for private nor agricultural use? By law, when it comes solely to Palestinians, rainwater belongs to the Israeli government. Palestinian farmers, in theory, need to pay a fee to Israeli authorities for using rainwater or may go to jail if found in the field while it is raining. This issue affects all Palestinians and dates back decades, continuing to exacerbate the unjust water crisis caused by the Israeli Occupation.

The West Bank reservoir is controlled by Israel, preventing Palestinians from any usage or extraction, which Palestinians own as per international law; an additional cut of 35% on Palestinians was registered recently, causing a cumulative reduction of 50% since October 7.
In the same area, Israeli settlers receive 247 liters per capita per day (l/c/d), while Palestinians receive a mere 86 l/c/d and face severe rationing at times. Additionally, the water supply to Gaza has been completely cut off, and its water facilities have been bombed.
