📢 Help us by completing a European survey on climate adaptation!    As part of our efforts within the MIP4Adapt Community, we’re excited to invite you to participate in a survey on the scalability of climate services!  The technical working group, formed by over 10 EU Horizon Europe projects, is keen to capture people's understanding and experiences.   📅 Deadline: 10 November 2024  ⏱️ Time: Approximately 15 minutes to complete online  Faced with increasingly significant climate challenges, understanding and leveraging climate services is essential for scaling solutions across regions. This EU survey aims to gather valuable data on adaptation projects. By participating, you will contribute to the impact of EU Mission’s Adaptation Projects for long-term resilience. [Blog] Cooperation and collaboration at the heart of climate resilience: learnings from #EURESFO24 In this blogpost, Indriany Lionggo, Jen Heemann and Marine FABER PERRIO write back from the Valencia Cities Climate Week, a far-reaching event that encompassed the celebration of three main gatherings: the Cities Mission Annual Conference, the European Urban Resilience Forum (EURESFO), and the Annual Forum of Energy Cities. IEECP was pleased to join this important week, a unique platform to exchange knowledge in the field of resilience and adaptation, emphasising the benefits of collective efforts in addressing climate change. REGILIENCE, a project funded by the European Union and coordinated by IEECP, was one of the co-organisers of EURESFO for the third year in a row. NATALIE: Accelerating and mainstreaming Nature-Based Solutions..! As the urgency to address societal challenges grows, Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) are playing a pivotal role in enhancing climate resilience. However, emerging issues require closer attention to unlock the full potential of NBS. The NATALIE project is supporting EU regions in building climate resilience. By focusing on three critical areas - technological and scientific innovation, financial strategies, and societal engagement - NATALIE aims to deliver transformative and sustainable solutions for climate adaptation across Europe.

Great to see EU Missions addressing climate change in Cities and Regions. Hopefully they can work with national and municipal governments to multiply the impact of climate action and to engage ordinary people in these climate- related activities as much as possible…

✨Happy to share my first paper "Implementing climate change adaptation through mainstreaming at the local level—a comparative case study of two municipalities in the Netherlands" is out ✨ Together with Gül Özerol, Joanne Vinke-de Kruijf, Johannes (Joop) I.M. Halman, and Stefan Kuks we investigated how Dutch #Cities implement #ClimateChangeAdaptation, check out the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eBYJus-j We looked at two Dutch front-runner cities: Gemeente Enschede, and Gemeente Zwolle. Thanks to everyone in those municipalities who supported this research! We found that: 💡 municipalities take a lot of different actions before they start implementing 💡 the Dutch municipalities pay a lot of attention to water-related adaptation (no surprise there), and each city integrated it into different sectors 💡 other extreme events, especially heat, and their impacts on sectors such as energy and health are not yet being addressed as much
