EBSA – Australia The Seafarers Project in Melbourne draws inspiration from the Birrarung-Yarra River and the site's rich maritime history. EBSA is proud to have contributed to this landmark development with our award-winning MP2 Opposed Opening Louvre system (MP-FL-OP). Developed over two years in close collaboration with our client, the MP-FL-OP was engineered to meet specific project requirements, including maintaining unobstructed views when open. Addressing challenges such as sightline obstruction and water ingress, we created an innovative solution featuring advanced blade movement and a high water rating. Drawing on insights from previous earthquake testing, the drive system was refined to allow for simultaneous or independent operation of the top and bottom blades. The result: 111 custom-designed louvres that perfectly align with the project's functional and aesthetic needs. Tested to the highest standards, the MP2 continues to set new benchmarks in louvre performance, combining innovative design with exceptional functionality. EBSA - Australia The façade of the Seafarers Project in Melbourne is now complete, featuring a design inspired by the Birrarung-Yarra River and the site's maritime history. EBSA is proud to have contributed to this landmark development with our award-winning MP2 Opposed Opening Louvre system (MP-FL-OP). The MP -FL-OP emerged from extensive collaboration with our client to address specific needs, notably maintaining unobstructed views even when open. Overcoming challenges such as sightline obstruction and water ingress, we engineered a solution that combines innovative blade movement with high water rating. Inspired by previous earthquake testing, we refined the drive system for simultaneous or separate operation of top and bottom blades. This two-year development journey culminated in the creation of 111 Louvres for the Seafarers Project, showcasing the adaptability and performance of the MP2. The MP2 Opposed Opening Louvre system continues to set new benchmarks in louvre performance. Tested to the highest standards, it combines innovative design with robust functionality, making it a standout solution for contemporary architectural projects. Villa Safadasht, KANLAN  Principal Architect: Kamran Heirati Motion Graphic: Negar Komasi The client’s wish was to fully divide the project into two separate sections so that the different performances of family and friends would not interfere. Therefore, the villa consists of two parts, the main living area, and the semi-private living area, separated at the same level, which are connected by the second part of the building, an elevated component which includes the private spaces. This separation leads to a passage, starting from the site entrance, passing through the space under the elevated volume, and ending at the canopy. This passage emphasizes the presence of the site, not only as the exterior but also as a stream that flows around and inside the building.
