The public comment periods for the projects listed here opened during the week of November 18. This week's listing includes projects seeking registration and/or verification in the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and the Climate, Community & Biodiversity Standards (CCBS) Programs. The projects are located in various geographic regions, including France, China, India, Poland, and more. A green taxonomy is a framework that categorizes economic activities based on their environmental sustainability, helping to guide investments toward projects that align with climate and environmental goals. It ensures that financial flows support green, sustainable initiatives such as clean energy, pollution control, and biodiversity conservation. The term gained prominence with the development of the *EU Taxonomy* in 2020, a system created by the European Union to promote sustainable finance. While the exact origin of the term is not attributed to a specific individual, the EU's initiative has made it widely recognized. This week's listing includes projects seeking registration and/or verification in the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program as well as the Climate, Community & Biodiversity Standards (CCBS) Program that are located in India, the United States, China, South Africa, and Argentina. These projects are implementing a broad range of activities, including related to energy efficiency reducing food loss and waste, and sustainable grassland management. Collectively, the projects seeking registration in the VCS and CCBS Programs could reduce and/or remove 961,935 tCO2e from the atmosphere. In addition to my previous post, here is an even easier-to-understand article about how we can (and must!) use entropy as an objective and quantitative criterion for sustainability. And by applying this to "negative CO2 emission" technologies like DAC, CCS, CCU - we can see that these are not sustainable at all but will do severe harm to biodiversity, ecosystems and the environment in general.
