🌟 Local Innovation, Global Impact 🌟 At Renewvia, we are continually inspired by the power of local initiatives to drive significant global impact. A prime example of this is our partnership with Yelele, a remarkable mini-grid owned and operated by Francis Ngimusia, a visionary entrepreneur from Turkana, Kenya. 🌍 Under Francis' leadership, this cornerstone of community development and empowerment in Turkana has become more than an energy provider; it's a source of pride and progress for the local community. This impactful project is supported by the generous funding from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, AECF, KKCF - Kakuma Kalobeyei Challenge Fund, IFC - International Finance Corporation, an Agence Française de Développement, whose contributions have been pivotal in bringing renewable energy solutions to underserved communities. 🌱 As part of our recent transaction with SteelFab, Inc., we are thrilled to include Mini-Grid Carbon Credits (MCCs) generated by Yelele. These credits are certified through Renewvia's rigorous processes, adhering to international standards while supporting grassroots renewable energy projects. 💡 Francis’ dedication to sustainable energy solutions and community upliftment exemplifies the potential of local enterprises to contribute meaningfully to global sustainability goals. By integrating these projects into the broader carbon credit market, Renewvia helps ensure that local heroes like Francis receive the recognition and economic benefit they deserve. 🤝 We are proud to support Yelele and are committed to empowering similar initiatives across the globe. EMERGE at the LEAP-RE Stakeholder Forum 2024 Last week, the EMERGE project was proudly represented at the LEAP-RE Stakeholder Forum 2024 in Milan. 🌍Our project coordinator Nikola Matak, UNIZAG FSB, participated in the Scientific and Methodological Clusters: Energy Systems and Modelling with Considerations to the Water-Energy-Food Nexus session. ⚡💧 🛠️During the session, key discussions revolved around the development of new tools for energy systems modeling.  These tools should be developed by local experts with external support, ensuring sustainable development for the African continent. 🌍 🤝Collaboration between local stakeholders and international experts was highlighted as crucial for addressing the Water-Energy-Food Nexus in Africa. Just Transition Skills - it is about time that this discussion starts! Building a workforce ready to meet the demands of a low carbon economy in South Africa

Honored to Be Featured in Africa Sustainability Magazine! I’m excited to share that I was recently featured in the Africa Sustainability Magazine (ASM) and interviewed by the amazing Ifunanya Onuigbo of The AR Initiative on the topic: “Illuminating Africa.” The article (pages 27-29) dives into the work we’re doing at Moon Innovations to accelerate digital transformation, advance sustainable energy, and enhance security across Africa with our Solar Smart Inverter System. This incredible year has been powered by collaborative efforts with partners like LEAP Africa (in partnership with Dow through YDoS program) and Co-creation HUB (CcHUB) (in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation through the Edo Innovation Program). A huge shoutout to the dedicated Moon Innovations Team and to GIZ Nigeria & ECOWAS for their steadfast support in helping us push the boundaries of clean tech and sustainability. One of the key messages coming out from the Plenary panel discussion at the #SANEDIEnergyConference2024 this morning on the "Various lenses of the Just Energy Transition" was that we one can't use a "one size fits all approach" and rather need to tailor solutions. It's great to see that there will be further discussions around how we can do this by developing localized skills for regional challenges. I hope that in doing so, we "Leave no one behind"
