4th meeting of the 🇪🇺🇻🇳 Political Sub-Committee took place last week amidst a time of many political transitions in Europe and internationally. All the more reason for frank exchanges and debates on pressing national/regional/international matters, including those where we don't necessarily see eye-to-eye.

--- Sanctioning democratic backsliding in the European Union: transnational salience, negative intergovernmental spillover, and policy change --- In the Journal of European Public Policy, Prof Dr Michael Blauberger and his co-author theorise two processes, namely public salience and intergovernmental policy cooperation, that can account for why EU policy changed from inaction to enforcement with the introduction of budget conditionality regulation to combat backsliding in Hungary and Poland from 2021. EU Democracy. The EU System imposes its own concept of democracy with its own rules on its own citizens without the latters' consent. Disagree and you are professionally and socially ostracised. EU Democracy ---> EU Pseudo Democracy ---> Free to express your thoughts IF you comply with EU imposed policy = EU Coercive Democracy ---> EU Dictatorship ---> EU Social System locked in.
