Master the GTD method! ✅ The Getting Things Done aka the GTD system, focuses on clearing your mind of stuff—be it answering emails, organizing a meeting, or writing a book—by moving it to a trusted external system. It consists of five steps: 1️⃣ Capture Everything: Capture anything that crosses your mind. Nothing is too big or small! These items go directly into your inboxes. 2️⃣ Clarify: Process what you’ve captured into clear and concrete action steps. Decide if an item is a project, next action, or reference. 3️⃣ Organize: Put everything into the right place. Add dates to your calendar, delegate projects to other people, file away reference material, and sort your tasks. 4️⃣ Reflect: Frequently look over, update, and revise your lists. 5️⃣ Engage: Get to work on the important stuff. As a system, GTD can be used by all of us. READ THROUGH THE PDF To see how the system flows plus a full list of people who I feel need to use this system. 🚀 Declutter to get going 🚀 The "Getting Things Done" (GTD) method emphasises the importance of getting tasks out of the mind to avoid the mental clutter that can inhibit productivity. It focuses on organising and tracking tasks, allowing for a clear mind and a more focused approach to work and life. The five key steps of GTD are: 1️⃣ Capture: Collect what has your attention. Use an inbox to capture everything that is on your mind—notes, ideas, to-dos, projects—and get them out of your head and into a trusted system. 2️⃣ Clarify: Process what it means. Take everything that you’ve captured and ask: Is it actionable? If so, what's the next action? If the item is not actionable, decide whether to discard it, delegate it, or put it on hold. 3️⃣ Organise: Put it where it belongs. Organise actionable items by category and priority. Allocate tasks to specific lists such as next actions, projects, waiting for, someday/maybe, and reference material. 4️⃣ Reflect: Review frequently. Regularly update and review your lists to ensure all your commitments are captured and organised. Weekly reviews can help you stay on top of your tasks and responsibilities. 5️⃣ Engage: Simply do. Use your system to make decisions on what to do at any given moment. Choose actions based on context, available time, energy, and priorities. What Are the GTD Agendas and What Are They For? In GTD, Agendas are a set of Next Actions linked with a person or a group of people, in the same way we can link them with physical contexts or tools we need in order to carry them out. These are just another kind of contexts. They are a great tool to reliably save all the things you need to discuss with people or teams you meet regularly, so that the next time you have the opportunity to talk to them you can keep track of all the pending issues, without forgetting anything. Another major benefit of Agendas is that they are respectful of your time and of those you work with. Instead of interrupting someone at work every time you feel the need to discuss something with them, what you do is make a list of everything you need to talk about. You can also use them when you have to communicate with someone by email or text messages, although it’s best to avoid these types of communications whenever possible, due to the lack of efficiency they entail. Lastly, if you always have your Agendas available, they will allow you to discuss all the issues you have pending with a person when you meet them in an unexpected or casual way. https://lnkd.in/g5AmbVAy
