Managing your Career as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

I'm just gonna ask what we all must be thinking...what in the heck is a "Fractional CFO"? I've been in the finance world for 10+ years and I'm just now seeing it so I'm confused. Honestly I don't care about job titles or whatever a "Fractional CFO" would consider those words. In some of my work, Firefighter or Janitor would have been more fitting with all the fires needing put out and cleanup needed instead of Accountant. Call me whatever you want. I care so much more about the work, the people, and the compensation/benefits. You could offer me a job called "Jr. VP of Sr. Managing Directors for Business Accounting Finance". Cool! What the heck is that and what does it even mean? Lol Were there ever days when just having CPA after your name told you everything you needed to know due to the perceived prestige, knowledge, and expertise? Legitimate question.

Do you know of any executive search firms that you might recommend for social impact finance leaders? For example, if you were a CEO at a impact-investing oriented foundation or religious order and you were looking for a CFO -- who would you recommend?
