Did you know that the first successful shipment of frozen meat was from New Zealand to Britain in 1882 on the shipping vessel Dunedin? The world has come a long way since the first shipment of frozen meat on Dunedin, which was fitted out with a coal-powered freezing plant. I was honoured to present the Opening Remarks at LogiSYM Cold Chain 2024 last week, a pioneer industry event where industry players gathered to explore the latest innovations and best practices for preserving the quality of temperature sensitive goods during transportation and storage. With the increasing demand for fresh and frozen food, coupled with the intersection of cold chain logistics with healthcare supply chains in the region, the role of cold chain logistics is pivotal in bolstering Singapore's trade for perishable goods. This is especially crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation and storage of temperature-sensitive products, contributing to the overall resilience of Singapore's perishables supply chain. Enterprise Singapore will continue to partner Singapore cold chain logistics companies in innovating, enhancing service offerings, as well as, addressing new customer requirements in areas such as sustainability. Note there are laws in China that encourage vigilantes shoppers to look through the shelves for stock that fails labelling & or has a use-by date that has been exceeded and be compensated when found a multiple of the cost price. If 1000 shoppers come and claim the compensation staff will become disturbed. We know from scientific evidence that #non-MonoUnsaturated (non-MUFA) oils make trans fats and carcinogens within days of being manufactured to harmful levels.
