🚧 Unlock the power of #digital collaboration with SS ISO 19650-2 National Annex. As construction projects become more complex and collaborative, the need for a structured approach to information management is critical. introducing SS ISO 19650-2 National Annex - a Singapore Standard that enhances the global ISO 19650-2 by offering localised guidance tailored to the unique needs of Singapore's construction industry. 🏗️🏢🧑🏽💻 Make informed decisions, collaborate effectively, and streamline workflows with SS ISO 19650-2 today! https://lnkd.in/dymYQYMj
With projects becoming more complex and with multiple stakeholders involved, it is crucial to establish a standard for information management to organise the digital assets within the Common Data Environment (CDE). This helps to improve collaboration between stakeholders, and enables them to maximise the potential of harnessing and leveraging technology for better decision-making, including the use of building information modelling (BIM). To facilitate this, the National Annex of ISO 19650-2 has been developed as a Singapore Standard, to help industry professionals better understand the ISO standards in local terminology, and guide how information can be managed in a structured manner. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) Singapore is one of the early adopters that has started implementing these standards across multiple projects. #AssetManagement standards provide a framework for organisations to effectively manage physical, digital, and financial assets, enhancing their efficiency, mitigating risks, and promoting #sustainability. At a recent seminar organised by SMF-SDO and The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES), the Safety and Quality Standards Committee (SQSC) partners demonstrated how they had leveraged such frameworks to overcome various challenges: 💧 Ho Chee Kit shared how C&W Services applied asset management principles to help a manufacturer improve water management. Through the implementation of a zero liquid discharge (ZLD) system, the manufacturer can: ➡️ Optimise asset lifecycle – Recover usable water from industrial discharge ➡️ Reduce operational costs – Lower wastewater disposal and freshwater procurement expenses ➡️ Enhance sustainability – Improve long-term environmental and financial outcomes 🌩️ Kabi Subramaniam illustrated how Arup incorporates risk assessment – a key component of asset management – in the built environment. By applying this framework, Arup helps real estate developers and operators to: ➡️ Assess risks – Evaluate potential financial impacts of various climate scenarios ➡️ Prioritise interventions – Plan targeted measures based on analysis of physical and transitional risks ➡️ Improve resilience – Recommend upgrades to physical infrastructure to withstand extreme weather These examples, along with insights from Kang Seng Seow on the SS ISO 55000 series and A/P Ng Bor Kiat on railway efficiency, demonstrate that asset management standards are sector-agnostic and crucial for unlocking long-term value across industries.
