🎉 Major milestone for SLICES-RI today 🎉 🔔 Today was the first meeting of the SLICES Interim Supervisory Board (ISB) thanks to the work carried out in the European SLICES-PP project. 28 people were "virtually" present for this kick-off meeting: 5 countries as members and 10 as observers ("membership" procedure underway). 🔎 The goal of this ISB? To discuss and decide together on the strategy for the creation of the ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium), the legal structure of SLICES. 📢 This first meeting was very interesting and set the stage for discussions on the topic over the coming months. It's a huge challenge ahead, but one that holds a lot of promise for the future.

First time listening to a teabreak sharing session (pre-proposal defence session) on a study about carbon emission policies in China at the faculty. It was an insightful session especially hearing the questions and suggestions from the floor, comprising of professors and fellow students, who will also form the audience for my teabreak sharing session eventually. Listening to their discussion allowed me to have a better idea at pre-empting questions related to my study. 💡

Join Starboard Maritime Intelligence, Planet, and Saildrone Inc as we discuss the role of maritime situational awareness for safeguarding subsea infrastructure. Register here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gP47rq6b As the connectors of the digital economy 🌏, these cables are vital assets, yet they are facing escalating threats from the expanding use of our oceans and potential malicious activities. During the webinar, Andy Hovey, Partha Ghosh, and Jim Thomason will examine how maritime domain awareness technology, data, and the intelligence cycle can be applied to the protection of subsea cables. And, if you are attending the ICPC | International Cable Protection Committee Plenary in Singapore keep an eye out for Mat Brown discussing this topic live on May 1.

Quantum computing is pushing the performance boundaries of today's classic computers. And just like any computer, it relies on many functional parts, all of which need technology innovations to move forward. Connectivity requires specialist expertise when working at extremely low temperatures. I spoke with Daan Kuitenbrouwer of Delft Circuits to learn how its connectivity technologies are making quantum computing advances possible.
Did I just see Daan Kuitenbrouwer in the June issue of EEtimes Europe? Read all about Delft Circuits, and make sure to live in 2024 and embrace their cable solutions instead of sticking to '1960's Coax'. https://lnkd.in/gDhe6fdy Sal Jua Bosman Calvin Companjen Robert Huntley Maaike Schutten Guus Frericks Teska van Vuren Maarten Hendriks + team!
