Why aren't we talking (enough) about Pinot Noir? 🍷🍷 There's something elusive about this finicky, think skinned grape that'll either win you over in the first interaction or tease you for a while before you fall for its nuanced wines. The great deal of care and skill needed to make Pinot Noir perform is what makes it one of the most talked about grapes too. It could be sometimes watery with sharp acidity to being intensively perfumed and elegant, depending on the region and treatment it is subject to. While Pinot's holy grail, Burgundy, can burn make a serious dent to your savings account, it's a positive development that other countries have taken it on themselves to make quality wines from the grape - Germany, USA (Oregon), NZ (Central Otago) and even Casablanca and San Antonio valleys in Chile. Great Pinots selected from the right mix of region and wine producer and when stored well, will unveil themselves in the most seductive way. Plus, it's a great wine to be enjoyed on its own or when paired with a nice cheese and charcuterie board or even a pizza! Even with this, I am surprised why we aren't talking enough about this wine in India. Importers and industry friends, please take note! I'm happy to spread the gospel in case you need a messenger! Having lived in Bourgogne, I promise I'll talk straight from the heart. 😀 If you are already excited, go and cool down a nice bottle of Pinot in the fridge and pamper yourself for a midweek treat. Pinot Noir is our specialty. Our vines have been lovingly restored to produce outstanding yield and fruit of exceptional quality that is unique to the our vineyard and region in North Canterbury. This wine looks beautiful in the glass. It is deeply coloured for a Pinot Noir and shows its youth with a rim that is bright and fresh. Aromatically, it is a wonderful amalgam of Black Doris plum, ripe black cherries and cool climate herb notes. The new oak component, if it is there, is skillfully woven amongst the fruit highlights. This is a mid-weight wine with lifted fruit and a lovely balance. On the palate, it has a calmness and stillness that highlights the interplay between the fruit characters and the tannins. The tannins are there, but they are so supple and rich that they appear as a dark velvet robe surrounding the plum and cherry fruit core. The wine has great persistence and the youthful fruit and polished tannins give it incredible carry on the palate. This brightness and freshness mean that this wine is immediately appealing. It will, however, age magnificently in the cellar. Those who have the strength and willpower to lock this wine away for a number of years will be rewarded with freshness and brightness complexed by sous bois notes and even greater intensity and length. In summary: adorable now, likely to be more adorable in the future. We have been fortunate to achieve incredible feedback from the wine industry across our selections, our Pinot Noir especially, Revered New Zealand wine critic, Sam Kim from Wine Orbit reviewed our 2019 against his strict criteria. He scored us 5 Stars, this is defined as: "Outstanding quality showing varietal purity and exemplifying regional type" We strive for the best possible results across our selection of wines. #dancingwatervineyard #wine #newzealand #customerexperience #terroir

Its silly season and that means popping corks! Most Australian sparkling wine consists of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, with the most common style a blend of the two. Australian grape growers pick cool-climate Chardonnay fruit early to retain its high acidity levels before it’s too ripe and acidity levels decrease. Some winemakers also make single-variety (100%) sparkling Chardonnays, known as Blanc de Blancs (French for ‘white of whites’). Australian Blanc de Blancs tend to be elegant, savoury, floral and dry, with robust acid. Aged Blanc de Blancs – like all sparkling wines that have spent extended time on lees – can also develop toasty notes. Other winemakers do produce single-variety (100%) sparkling Pinot Noirs, known as Blanc de Noirs (French for ‘white of blacks’, or white wine made from red grapes). 🍂 What bargain wines pair well with fall dishes❓ https://lnkd.in/dtPgtx3U 💰 You don’t have to pay a lot to get great value in your glass these days. Click link in bio for the video to find out which wines over-deliver on their price point. 🍂 As the season changes your wine list should change too. We could all use some tips on picking a good bottle of wine, with great value. 🍁 If we think of Canadian wine, we think of Niagara first, Okanagan second, and that’s kind of where most people’s perception stops. 🕰️ We sometimes also think of the hangover from the 1970s or 1980s when we had grim wines. 🍷 But so much has changed, the quality, the knowledge of the soils and the grapes, the wine making techniques. 💸 I mean it’s just spectacular what’s happening now, and the price quality ratio is there as well. 🌍 They compete head to head with wines from other regions around the world. 🤑 What is priced best, taste the most delicious, maybe from somewhere we don’t know, or do know? 🍇 We might be familiar with the wines of Chile and Argentina. 💎 But we might not be as familiar with the grapes that they produce that have that terrific price quality ratio. 🥂 If you like Cabernet, you might like Malbec. 🔍 If you like Merlot you might like Bonarda, and it’s a good way to kind of discover new regions, but also more importantly new styles and grapes of wine. 🍁 Do you have a favourite fall wine❓ Let me know in the comments 👇 Cheers🥂, Natalie 🍷 PS Get my free "Ultimate Guide to Wine & Food Pairing" at: https://lnkd.in/ghiPfx_F ✉️ Or just DM me and ask for the guide! Seafood and wine lovers, this is a must-read! 🍷🐟 These are the best wine pairings for your favorite fish dishes: ✨ Mahi Mahi: This fish pairs wonderfully with rich white wines such as Dry Rosé, Italian Chardonnay, Marsanne, or Roussanne. If you’re cooking it light, opt for lighter whites like Sauvignon Blanc. ✨ Red Snapper: Grilled snapper shines with Pinot Noir or a light Merlot from California, or even light, fruity reds like Beaujolais. ✨ Tuna: This fish has red wine potential. Try a southern Rhône, a young Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, or Merlot. ✨ Mackerel: A California Viognier or an Oregon Pinot Gris works beautifully with broiled mackerel. Sauvignon Blanc or even Champagne are also excellent choices. ✨ Wahoo: Oaked Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, or Dry Rosé would be fitting. A darker wine option includes Pinot Noir. Time to plan your next seafood and wine pairing night! 🥂 #winepairing #seafoodpairings #winelover #seafoodlover #foodandwine #pineriverrealty

Why do people love drinking cheap wines? A vast majority of wines consumed are inexpensive and everyday-drinking wines. But what are the 3 reasons that makes them compelling to buy and enjoyable to taste? 1️⃣ Many cheap wines are slightly sweet, and who doesn’t love a touch of sweetness? Winemakers add just the right amount of sweetness to balance out the weaker flavors, making for a more enjoyable sip. 2️⃣ Cheap wines are often light and smooth, without any bitter tannic aftertaste. This makes them easy to drink and appreciate, without the need for extensive wine knowledge or experience. 3️⃣ Let’s not forget that cheap wines are...well, cheap! Everyone loves a good deal, and getting a great-tasting wine without breaking the bank is a win-win situation. So now you know. There are plenty of affordable wines out there that are just as sweet, smooth, and enjoyable to wine beginners. Stay tuned for more wine wisdom, and cheers to getting the best value for your money! 🍇🍾 #sonalholland #masterofwine #wine #winestagram #cheapwines #wines #winetasting #reelsinstagram #reelitfeelit #explorepage #explore

It is that time of year again - and the big question - what wine do I pair with my Thanksgiving (or Friendsgiving) Dinner? If you listen to popular media - there is a common answer and that is drink American and drink Zinfandel. I like the idea of drinking American - But Zinfandel is a big wine with lots of alcohol just what you don’t need to mix in with your tryptophan over-dose. What I say is - keep it light and cheerful, and if possible low alcohol by volume. Starting with sparkling - which is naturally low in alcohol nothing beats a nice Brut Cava. Made in the “champagne” or “traditional” method, you can’t go wrong. Whites - As much as I love Chardonnay, there are more food friendly and versatile whites. Starting with Riesling - fresh and dry, you will surprise your guests with these wines. Go with Germany and you won’t be disappointed - look for bottlings labeled as "trocken" which means dry. From there - Chenin Blanc is one of my favorites. There perhaps is no better food paring white wine than Chenin Blanc. Seek out examples from Loire Valley, France - Anjou, Vouvray, Saumur. Red - a little more difficult, Pinot Noir always hits the spot - and there is no better Pinot Noir than from Burgundy - you can go budget oriented, or break the bank with more expensive options. (Alternatively, Gamay works well) On the other side, I like Tempranillo, and some of the best come from Ribera del Duero and Rioja- structured but not heavy. Wrap it all up with a cheese course and some Sauternes if you like something sweet. The unmistakable presence of botrytis makes these wines very, very special. Of course, I will never discourage a wine if you have your heart set on it. So there it is - sort of a blanket overview of what I recommend for Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving and see you soon. (and the sooner the better!) #thanksgiving #thanksgivingdinnerpairing #veritasstudiowines
