“It’s the things I wouldn’t normally share and would keep to myself,” Faye Toogood says, describing her upcoming installation at Stockholm Furniture Fair. “It’s about the process of creativity, which is something that is not always talked about in design.” Faye Toogood, who is the guest of honour for Stockholm Furniture Fair 2025, wants her installation to feel more like a personal sketchbook than a retrospective. Instead of presenting her celebrated finished designs, Toogood will explore the creative process behind her work, exhibiting drawings, maquettes and development work from her personal archive. Toogood’s studio has long championed craft and localised production, and her installation, which is named Manufracture, aims to open up questions around how and why we manufacture and consume design. By presenting characterful early drafts of her designs, Toogood hopes to emphasise the care and individuality creative practitioners bring to the industry, which can’t be replaced by technology.
