It's not exactly a "hipster take" for Fall to be my favorite season (and my season-long sunburn would agree), but now more than ever here's why:
1.) 📈 Hiring Spikes: Big time, at all levels spanning small sophisticated boutiques with a handful of attys, major regional players at the "middle market" scale with offices all across the area, and AmLaw outfits finally through with the rush of Summer Assoc programs, Summer Assoc evals, and redirecting their attention towards filling pressing and imminent needs
2.) 🚨 Increased Hiring Urgency: Everyone (should) be back from their 14-week European vacations, and as such, hiring is on the forefront. In contrast to Jun / Aug, we tend to see the speed of job opening, candidate submission feedback, interview scheduling, subsequent round progression or rejection, and, ultimately, offer and placement, all ramp up to an F1-caliber velocity once the leaves start to turn
3.) 💰 Deep Applicant Pools: With hiring picking up in the Fall, so does the volume of the candidates applying to open roles. As such, salaries, sign-on's, and other bonuses grow more competitive to attract top talent before they're snatched up by competitors
