Surgical anxiety is a significant issue that often goes unnoticed until the day of the procedure. When considering a facelift, or any surgery really, it's essential to ensure your surgeon meets high standards for safety, skill, and results. Most of these questions can be used to evaluate any surgeon for any type of procedure. But here are the top standards your surgeon should meet for a facelift: 1. Are you board-certified in plastic surgery? Look for board certification to ensure specialized training and high standards. 2. How many times a week do you perform this procedure? Regular experience, ideally multiple times a week, shows a focus on this specific procedure. 3. How many years of experience do you have in this field? Ten or more years of experience is ideal for refined skills and expertise. 4. What techniques do you use for this procedure? Make sure the outcomes meet your expectations. Look for natural, undetectable results—trust your eye test. 5. Who will administer anesthesia, and what type will be used? For general anesthesia, ensure a board-certified anesthesiologist. With IV sedation, the provider should be highly experienced. 6. Where will the surgery be performed, and how long will it take? It must be an accredited surgical center to meet safety and quality standards, with an honest timeframe for thorough work. 7. What are the potential risks and complications associated with this procedure? Ask for a clear rundown of risks and how they’re managed to stay informed. 8. Where will my incisions be located, and what can I expect regarding scarring? Be clear about expectations, and learn what factors contribute to a good scar, including technique and biological factors. 9. What will my recovery be like, and how long until I fully recover? Expect a clear recovery timeline, including when results will start to show. 10. How are post-op care and follow-up handled, and what support is available if complications arise? Comprehensive post-op care and accessible follow-ups help ensure a smooth recovery. Save for reference. #plasticsurgeon #healthcare #innovation

📋 Our new and improved theatre appointments make it far easier to book patients in for surgery – here’s how: 💡 Comprehensive theatre information: Key theatre-related details, such as the type of stay and required anaesthesia, are linked to an appointment, so you don't miss any crucial details. 🔔 Automated notifications: Automatically send reminders to patients about their upcoming surgeries, and add follow-up messages for aftercare, so your patients stay well-informed throughout their care journey. 📩 Streamlined processes: You no longer need to send individually drafted emails with manually entered data. Admissions time, procedure type and more are automatically copied, streamlining patient admissions and reducing admin. Take a look below at what a few of our hospital admin teams have said about how it’s transformed their day-to-day. 🙌 (A big thank you to April Harrop, Natasha Du Preez, Katheryn Cruikshank and Andy Pryor for their insights. 👏) And if you want to give it a spin yourself? Thoughts on this proposed? Strategies for Improving Global Surgery Payment Accuracy For CY 2025, we are proposing to broaden the applicability of the transfer of care modifiers for global packages and require the use of the existing modifiers (-54, -55, and -56) for all 90-day global surgical packages in any case when a practitioner (or another practitioner from the same group practice) expects to furnish only the pre-operative (-56), procedure (-54), or post operative portions of a global package (including but not limited to when there is a formal, documented transfer of care as under current policy or an informal, non-documented but expected, transfer of care). We are proposing for practitioners to report the transfer of care modifiers in all transfer of care scenarios, which will provide CMS with more accurate information on the resources involved in furnishing components of global surgical packages. This proposal would inform CMS about how global package services are typically furnished and will help CMS to make more accurate Medicare payments. For CY 2025, we are proposing a new add-on code, GPOC1, for post-operative care services to more appropriately reflect the time and resources involved in these post-operative visits to compensate the additional resources involved by practitioners who were not involved in furnishing the surgical procedure. Thank you in advance! Thought it might be a great discussion. Renee
