We keep seeing this again and again and it is commendable as well as a bit frustrating from the perspective of a Norwegian company🦥 Danish Industry and DI Bio has set a clear example of how a focused, mission-driven approach can elevate an entire sector. By being the voice of the #biosolutions industry, DI Bio is actively shaping the framework conditions that allow biotech companies in #Denmark to thrive both domestically and internationally. Well done 👏 The Federation of Norwegian Industries can take inspiration from this approach. While Norsk Industri supports a broad range of sectors, there’s an opportunity to intensify efforts around the clearly 🚀 booming 🚀 bioeconomy 🧪 and biotechnology 👩🔬 , sectors that are rapidly growing globally. By advocating more aggressively for these industries, Norsk Industri can help Norway capitalize on its (unbeatable!) natural resources and expertise in areas like bio-based materials and sustainable protein production for food and feed. With DI Bio’s proactive engagement, Danish #biotech is positioned for global leadership, just look towards Reshape Biotech 🤝 . It's time for Norsk Industri to pick up the pace and establish a similarly impactful presence, promoting bio-based solutions and ensuring that Norway remains competitive on the world stage. #Bioeconomy #NorskIndustri #DIbio #Innovation #Norway #Denmark #Biotech
Is this the beginning of a beautiful friendship? ☺️ Following DI Bio's highly successful event, we invited Henrik Fabrin and Esben Carbac Hansen to visit our office. They stopped by today to see our work firsthand and get a sneak peek of our ongoing projects. 🇩🇰 Danish Industry and DI Bio have two crucial missions for Danish companies. Their goal is to help Danish businesses succeed both domestically and internationally, making them an excellent partner for Reshape. DI Bio's specific mission is particularly impactful. They serve as the voice of the biosolutions industry, focusing on enhancing the industry's framework conditions. We look forward to future collaborations that will help biotech flourish in Denmark and around the globe.

Enginzyme was created to make chemistry cleaner and more efficient, so it was natural that we joined the Mistra SafeChem consortium. Today the group announced details about the kick-off of phase 2. Phase 1 was Sweden-centric and focused on creating tools to help chemical companies hew to the 12 principles of green chemistry. Phase 2 will be a more international effort. Five interdisciplinary case studies will be carried out to develop new processes for select products that will assessed under guidelines for SSbD (Safe and Sustainable by Design.) The case studies will be developed with a strong focus on the EU Chemical Strategy for Sustainability. AstraZeneca, BASF, Cambrex, enginzyme, Merck, Nouryon, Perstorp Group, LigniCore, and Stockholm Vatten och Avfall are participating, along with the research partners IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, Stockholm University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, DTU - Technical University of Denmark, and Uppsala University. The program is funded by Mistra, Stiftelsen för miljöstrategisk forskning (Swedish Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research), with SEK 70 million (€6 million) over four years. The program partners will contribute SEK 30 million. Stay tuned for more on this. https://lnkd.in/e8k9BcfT

Hi everybody! Yesterday, I had the honour of hosting a panel at this years CIC organized by CLIB - Cluster Industrielle Biotechnologie. The discussion was dealing with biomanufacturing. The big question the experts were discussing: how can we extend biomanufacturing Europe-wide? Ute Schick from Evonik, Mary McCarthy from Soffinova, Mariagiovanna Vetere from NatureWorks, Max Kroymann from BMWK and Juergen Eck (Ph.D.) from bio.IMPACT concluded: 1) we should go for public-private partnerships for funding the new plants. 2) We should be more self confident in Europe. Why? Because we are great in what we do! 3) let us harmonize regulations globally. 4) increase public acceptance, also with more innovative education. 5) finally we said: impact comes with scale! Was a great event! Thanks for organizing!

How do you create connectivity and synergies between funded R&I projects? In BlueBio Cofund we started immediately after kicking off the projects, creating online meeting places where multiple actors from each project could meet, discuss and learn from each other. The "e-coffee meetings" allowed us to meet the projects more than just at the mid-way and end evaluations, so we could adjust our activities and support to their needs. It lead to collaborations between projects, training courses and a big effort on commercialisation support.
