To achieve a transition towards more sustainable hemodialysis, new concepts of wastewater treatment are needed. In hemodialysis, wastewater should be seen as a resource, that can provide fit-for-purpose water, energy, nutrients, and carbon emission savings. In our country, Morocco we are working on an innovative integreted model for sustainable circular economy in hemodialysis units. Establishing a circular resource flow can help alleviate water scarcity and generate additional revenue.
