It's still a relatively small market now but its growth is expected to be robust, with a CAGR of 35.23% until 2027.
The Electric Vehicle Charging Adapter Market had a value of USD 400 million in 2021. It's expected to surpass USD 2,4 billion by 2027, growing 6-fold during the forecast period.
The market started to grow especially since Tesla opened its EV charging network to other electric vehicles, starting with Ford, in February 2022. Other manufacturers like GM, Hyundai, Kia, and others are expected to gain access soon. With the right adapter, non-Tesla EVs can charge at Tesla Superchargers.
Global EV sales reached 9 million units in 2021 and 10 million units in 2022, driving up demand for charging adapters across different vehicle segments.

A: 10.18 seconds (x2)
When you own an electric vehicle, this is a question you get a lot.
Of course, I know the specs on our Tesla Model 3 Performance, which is about 25 minutes from 5% to 80% SOC at a Supercharger, and about 5 hours from 5% to 80% SOC on a 48A AC charger.
But that doesn't tell you much as, like most people, I almost always charge at home.
Which means we plug it in at night, and unplug in the morning, just like we do with our phone. After that, I don't really care: it's always full in the morning. Anywhere between a 1 minute and 11 hour charge is exactly the same.
So, my daughter and I made this short video of how long it takes us to plug in.
The answer? 10.18 seconds
Times two to include unplugging in the morning, or 20.36 seconds.
That's way better than the 5 to 10 minutes you need to set aside to refuel you gas vehicle.
It also doesn't stink like toxic chemicals, there's no lineup and you don't have to deal with the weirdo 3 pumps over who looks like they're going to mug you.
And the best part? It costs less than 5 bucks.
Of course, when we're on the road at a Supercharger it takes the same time. Why? We're usually getting lunch or coffee.
Though, in truth, it can take a good deal longer and be much more painful and costly as I have to drag my wife and daughters out of the nearby shops to get on the road again.
"But Dad, they're having a 50% off sale!"
There goes the gas savings.....
