At the World Cities Summit’s Smart City plenary session, Men Leong Chew, President of ST Engineering Urban Solutions, joined fruitful discussions with urban leaders and industry experts on the key challenges and priorities for creating human-centric smart cities. Key highlights of his sharing 🔸Smart city technologies need to scale up for viable city-wide applications. 🔸Solutions must be integrative to enable synergies across various vertical applications. 🔸Every vertical application needs to prioritise the citizen to yield tangible and measurable benefits. 🔸Digital enterprise platforms are crucial for optimising energy and water efficiency to achieve net-zero outcomes. 🔸Seamless multi-modal transport systems are essential for affordable, connected and sustainable transportation. To bring all these into reality, collaboration and partnership between government agencies and industry strategic partners is necessary to ensure technologies are harnessed to improve quality of life for citizens. ➡️ More on ST Engineering's Smart City solutions: stengg.com/smart-city #SmartCities #sustainability #urbanplanning #mobility #transportation #smartbuildings #netzero #technology #SmartCity

Smart cities are not a smart domain networks and systems. They should aim to contribute to open, user-driven, objective-driven, and multi-stakeholder approach. It’s a fact that a smart sustainable city will not be possible without smart innovation with smart people, but that smart environment for smart city alone will not be able to solve the major problems of the “Hyperconnected: Social, Ecological, and Environmental” cities. “The sustainability of spatial structures can only be defined and evaluated in terms of lifecycles, from the procurement and use of construction materials and components, through the use and maintenance of built structures, to their eventual disposal or reuse. Intelligently meshing all elements across the most wide-ranging dimensions is key and growing ever more decisive.” (Sustainable Urban Planning: Vibrant Neighbourhoods – Smart Cities – Resilience) #smartcity #smartcities #supercluster #datacity #healthycities #smarthealth #smartenergy #smartinfra #smartinfrasturucture #citytech #smarttech #smarttechnology #smartliving #smartmobility #datahub #smartenvironment #smartpeople #data #ai #platform #smartthings
