People always think about the importance of inclusive parks for children, but what about parents? Imagine not being able to push your child on the swings, because that's the reality for a lot of parents who are in wheelchairs or have conditions like dwarfism. They might want to take their child to the park but they can’t reach to put them in the swing seat. A key aspect of any play park environment are the guardians, carers and parents that take children there to play! So they shouldn’t be excluded from being able to do that. That’s where inclusive parks come in. Because all parents and guardians should always have a local space they can take their children for play, fresh air, and exercise. Inclusive parks have those additional accommodations in place, lower swing sets, hand-rails, wheelchair spaces on roundabouts. You can keep up with my LinkedIn to find out more about my work for inclusive parks! #inclusiveparks #accessibility #parks #childrensparks

Survey after survey says that most people in their fifties, sixties, and beyond would prefer to age at home. But what if that is not practical? Several factors can get in the way of us aging at home -- health issues, lack of support services, home safety concerns, social isolation, and financial constraints. In fact, only 3.5% of US housing has been designed with age-friendly features that would allow people to age safely and comfortably. NUUage Coliving is based on the idea that living in a smaller space with shared amenities and services can help folks like us who are aging solo keep our independence, stay active and healthy, keep our minds sharp, and stay plugged into our community. At NUUage, we invite you to consider aging in the community if you are unable to age at home. It's about creating a vibrant, nurturing environment where life's later chapters are filled with joy, companionship, and mutual support. #AgeInCommunity #NUUageColiving #SharedHousing #CommunityLiving #Affordablehousing #seniors #Coliving

An "#inclusive map" is a map that addresses the diverse needs of all users, including people with disabilities, the elderly, children, and other often underrepresented groups. It provides detailed information on #accessibility features like ramps, public seats, shade, trees, and clear pathways to improve mobility. 👇 Here is a snapshot of our recently mapped #walking spaces in Randwick #Sydney 🇦🇺. Finding the most accessible and convenient path from A to B on foot 🚶♀️ or wheels 👨🦽 shouldn't be a challenge for anyone anymore. 📍 https://lnkd.in/gwBrn-3a Follow footpath.ai for updates as we expand our coverage in #Australia and globally.

You are not "raising the roof", you are "raising the hope and humanity." At Pioneer, they are not going to "grow the plants and trees", they are going to " grow the growth, abilities, hopes and happiness " among the people with disabilities. This is a great cause, please support. #hope #peoplewithdisabilities #humanity #growth #charity #donations
Horticulture impacts the lives of individuals with disabilities in so many positive ways. McHenry County College is rehabbing this greenhouse but we need funds to make this happen! What an amazing way to see your generosity “grow.”
