Most of us don't know the difference between grief in trauma in this life after suicide loss...is it different? YES!! They are very much different. Grief refers to the sadness we feel after our loss, and it changes over time but will always be there because we will always love and miss them. Trauma refers to the "injury" our brain has experienced & it NOT heal on its own. We have to gain knowledge and take action. What reading or learning have you done about the trauma (& often PTSD) that results after a significant and complicated loss by suicide? Do you have a favorite tool or modality that is helping you heal? Consider checking out my "Grief to Growth Trauma Healing" series on my website as a starting point. There are also many books & courses out there to help guide you in the right direction. Trauma isn't just about the event - it's about how our body and mind react to it. Many people think trauma is defined by a specific incident, but it's more complex than that. Trauma is actually the imprint left on our nervous system by overwhelming experiences. Key points to understand: 1. Trauma is more than just PTSD. 2. It's all about our ability to process and integrate the experience. 3. Trauma lives in the body: It affects our physical responses, not just our thoughts. 4. Healing involves reconnecting with our bodies and regulating our nervous system. Understanding this perspective can be transformative in how we approach healing and supporting others. What's your experience with this view of trauma? Has it changed how you think about your own experiences or those of others? Share your thoughts in the comments below. Let's start a meaningful conversation about trauma and healing. 👇 #TraumaAwareness #MentalHealth #EmotionalHealing #NervousSystem #PersonalGrowth #Resilience

🌿 What is Trauma? 🌿 Trauma is more than just a difficult experience - it's something that overwhelms your ability to cope, leaving deep psychological, emotional, and sometimes even physical effects. Trauma can result from a variety of experiences, including accidents, abuse, violence, natural disasters, or significant loss. It's the kind of experience that disrupts your sense of safety and stability, leaving you feeling out of control, disconnected from yourself, and distanced from the world around you. Everyone's trauma is unique, and so is the way it affects them. Some people might experience flashbacks, anxiety, or depression. Others may feel numb, detached, or like they're reliving the event. And while the effects of trauma can be lasting, healing is possible. Understanding that trauma doesn't define you is the first step toward recovery. It's not a weakness to acknowledge the impact of a painful experience; in fact, it's the beginning of reclaiming your strength and finding your way forward. I specialise in helping individuals who feel overwhelmed by their experiences. I provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can begin to process your trauma and take steps toward healing. If you've been feeling stuck, anxious, or disconnected, let's explore how we can work together to navigate your healing journey. You don't have to do this alone. 💬 Reach out today and let's begin the process of turning pain into resilience. #WhatIsTrauma #TraumaRecovery #TraumaInformedCare #EmotionalHealing #PsychologicalWellbeing #HealingJourney #OvercomingTrauma #TherapyAndCoaching #ResilienceBuilding #MentalHealthAwareness #SupportAndHealing #YouAreNotAlone

Healing from trauma is a journey, not a destination. Emotional wounds often cut deeper than physical ones, and it takes time to feel like yourself again. If you’ve experienced trauma—whether from domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, divorce, illness, motor accident, or any other cause—know that it’s normal to feel overwhelmed. Symptoms like flashbacks, severe anxiety, bad dreams, and avoiding reminders of the trauma can indicate PTSD. It's important to seek professional help if these symptoms persist. As a trauma counsellor, I’m here to guide you through this process, helping you move from surviving to thriving. Together, we can work through the phases of trauma recovery and find inner peace. Let’s heal the wounds of the past with care and knowledge. To learn more or to book a session, please click on: https://lnkd.in/dDYGKbiv #MentalHealth #TraumaRecovery #PTSD #HealingJourney #Support
