ACHAP is well represented at #UNGA2024 this week in New York. We are particularly thrilled to be part of the faith community discussions that will take place at the SDGs Roundtable 2024: Interfaith Contributions and Civil Society Best Practices. ACHAP's work is relevant to two specific topics at this round table: Round 1: Interfaith Contributions to SDGs Achievements – Health and Wellness through Interfaith Efforts: The role of interfaith collaborations in promoting health and well-being, and how these partnerships can address healthcare disparities and promote access to quality healthcare for all. Round 2: Civil Society Best Practices and Initiatives for the SDGs – Faith Communities as Change-Makers: Exploring the ways in which faith communities are addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges, and discussing opportunities for further collaboration and coordination. We look forward to interacting with health partners from around the world to tackle the globe’s most pressing health issues. https://lnkd.in/eZTpP7nb

🚨 Why is mental health R&D so slow? 🚨 Celebrate #WorldMentalHealthDay by understanding how we can drive change together? A recent review by Wellcome Trust and Technopolis Group (https://bit.ly/3YjAUk3) highlights key barriers in the mental health R&D landscape, from scientific knowledge gaps to clinical trial recruitment and retention challenges. Regulatory uncertainty, complex pricing, digital product confusion, and low treatment-seeking due to stigma also contribute to the delays. The report calls the R&D pathway a ‘leaky pipeline,’ with vital roles for funders and investors to help plug the gaps through innovative funding, collaborations, and advocacy. #MentalHealthDay #MentalHealthResearch #Innovation #FundingMentalHealth #R&D #Collaboration #MentalHealth

In today's world, where access to accurate health information can be a game-changer, it's crucial that we come together to uplift and educate our communities. My journey in community health awareness has shown me that knowledge truly is power. Whether it's breaking the stigma around mental health, promoting healthy habits among the youth, or ensuring that everyone has access to essential medical services, our collective efforts make a difference. Today, as I reflect on the impactful health sessions we've conducted—whether it's in schools or out in the field during community outreaches—I am reminded of the incredible resilience and strength within our communities. From educating young girls about menstrual health to offering medical services to underserved populations, every initiative is a step toward a healthier, more informed future. Health isn't just about the absence of illness; it's about fostering a sense of well-being, dignity, and empowerment in every individual. As we continue this journey, let's remember that we all have a role to play. Together, we can conquer stigma, raise awareness, and build healthier, stronger communities. Here's to continuing the work, making every conversation count, and ensuring that no one is left behind. Let's keep pushing forward, one health talk, one outreach, and one person at a time. 💪🌟

What is Systemic Therapy and how does it work ❔ It stems from systems theory, which examines how parts of a system affect each other, aiming to sustain stability and address problems within the context of these relationships. Systemic therapy works by examining and addressing the interactions and dynamics within an individual's relationships and social networks. It aims to identify and change problematic patterns in these relationships, considering the individual's issues in the context of their broader social system. LOHA use a unique form of systemic therapy for families which creates C.U.R.E. Connection. Understanding. Resilience & Empathy. And it is working!
