One of the most inspiring parts of our job is watching the women we work with use the income they earn from farming moringa to transform their communities. Women farmers invest in school fees for their children, healthcare for loved ones, and building homes for their families. Even more importantly, they instill in their children a desire to give back to the community. Four years ago with your help, we created our True Moringa Community Fund to support special projects that have touched the lives of thousands of small farming families in Ghana - 💧Providing clean water to 2700 people 📚Funding school fees for 22 children 👩🏽⚕️Completely renovating our community health center 🌶️ Launching our regenerative chili pepper farm This year at the request of our farmers, donations from our Community Fund will support scholarships for the children of our farmers to pursue their own dreams through higher education. Dairy Farm to Support Street Children! For the past few months I've been working with a small organization located in Pajian Village, Lahore, Pakistan. They are cut off from the world for a couple of reasons: 1) A lot of people don't trust organizations in Pakistan due to corruption in the government, etc. 2) They are in a rural part of Pakistan, where things like trash, sewer, and many other basic amenities don't even exist! Trash lines the streets, and many people and parents are drug/alcohol addicted, leaving children to wander the streets digging through trash to find food to eat. The organization I have been working with started and launched a free school program for these children, to get them off the streets! They have been running for the last few years now. The Founder, Noreen Rehmat, quit her job to start the organization, and spent her life savings to provide for these children. But donations have been intermittent, and it is quite literally "feast or famine" based on donations that come in to support these children. Over the past few months Noreen and I devised a strategy to help her organization become self-sufficient. The project is that of setting up a dairy farm on the land she already owns, from which the milk can be sold, as well as given to the children, to provide a steady stream of income and nourishment to the organization. (You can see the project details here: https://lnkd.in/g3YM2wQe) As of the time of this post, The organization has raised $1,020 of the $7,000 they need to fund the project. To my entire network: If each one of you donated just $0.75, this project would be completely funded, creating a self-sustaining relief organization in rural Pakistan that would help hundreds of children per year escape homelessness, poverty, abuse, neglect, sex-trafficking, slavery, and more. Some of you won't donate, some of you won't even see this post. But to those who will: Please give what you can. The goal is $7,000 but truly that is the bare minimum. Every penny counts, and on behalf of those who will make this project a reality, I just want to say: Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! If you have any questions about this project or the organization, DM me or post in the comments below and I will do my best to answer! #TCS #ThoughtCartographyStudios #GlobalImpact

This week for National Homeownership Month, we're focusing on the positive effects that housing can have on education, especially on children who grow up in an owned home. Starting today, early giving for #SOLAGivingDay is underway, and your generosity can make a real difference in the lives of children across South Louisiana. With summer break approaching, many families are faced with a concerning question: Without school meals, how will we feed our kids? In South Louisiana, one in seven families and one in five children experience food insecurity. This isn't just a statistic—it's a reality that's hitting close to home. Second Harvest is gearing up to tackle this surge in hunger by doubling our efforts to feed children during these critical months. But this effort isn't something we can achieve alone—we need you. By donating early to #SOLAGivingDay, you can provide a lifeline to those families who won't receive additional help this summer. Imagine this—every single dollar you contribute can help provide three wholesome meals. That's the power of #SOLAGiving in action! Don't wait until May 2 to join us in ensuring no child goes hungry this summer. Give now at https://lnkd.in/gTsWD6Y4 #NOSUMMERHUNGER #FeedTheFuture #SOLAGivingDay

October 6, 2024 is the NYC Chapter Out of Darkness Walk. It will start the NYC Seaport Pier 16 & 17 in the Seaport District. The event opens at 10AM. The walk starts at 11:30AM Many many of you helped last year with donations to my fund raising. I'm asking again if you can help prevent a suicide and support research into suicide. Our farmers are struggling greatly. Here is why donating to AFSP can make a huge difference. Farmers have a suicide rate much higher than the general population, with some estimates in the United States as high as three times the national average. Other studies have identified environmental factors that put farmers at elevated risk of suicide. Zanchi et al found that pesticide exposure may exacerbate depression, impulsivity, and suicidal ideation, with implications that exposure to pesticides may be a contributing factor to farmers’ poor mental health and thus increase the risk of suicide. Firearms, which are often involved in suicides, are common in farm environments. It is, therefore, not surprising that this environmental hazard is very frequently involved with suicides within the farming population. Thank for considering a donation and please share this. #suicideprevention

Let's celebrate Arizona Gives Day! Arizona is home to more than 20,000 nonprofits providing services we rely on every day, and Arizona Gives Day was created to both strengthen and sustain Arizona's nonprofit community. While the platform is available for giving year-round, the 24-hour day of giving raises awareness, connects the public with businesses, and increases financial support for these important - and often critical - organizations. The organizations participating are more than "charity." Collectively, Arizona's nonprofits constitute a powerful economic engine. This is a great opportunity to engage with your favorite causes. Want to empower at-risk foster youth? Grow the foster network of your local animal rescue? Deliver critical supplies to homeless individuals? You can even choose a category like human services, animals, environment, and more to choose exactly who you want to support on April 2. Check out all 1,000+ organizations to support at azgives.org and donate to your passion!

These are always some of my favourite stories. The ones where young Canadians start to care about ending poverty. They remind me of when I was 13 years old, asking my teacher how I can raise money to help kids around the world. The way we respond to kids' curiosities about the world matters. "Yes, you can make a difference!" is a response that could change a child's worldview and even how they view themselves. That's why this story about a preschool teacher in Vernon, BC, inspires me. When I was 13, my teacher responded with, "Yes, you can do something to make a difference." Her response led to a passion for learning about the world and a desire to use my skills to impact others. Which, ultimately, led to why I use my passion for communications and marketing in the non-profit sector today. Check out how these preschoolers made a difference and learned empathy in the process ⬇️
How can you teach preschoolers to help others and make a difference? Tania, a preschool teacher at Vernon Christian School, asked the same question. So, she made a plan to teach empathy by growing plants and using them to fundraise for the FH Gifts for Change Gift Guide. “I was hoping the children would understand the connection that when we grew and sold plants, a family in another part of the world could do the same,” Tania says. They patiently tended to and grew the plants and raised $157—over triple their goal! With the funds, they gave Fruit and Veggies, Garden Tools, and a Green Thumb Bundle through the Gift Guide to support agriculture programs for families in FH partner communities.
