One thing I've noticed time and time again - is that everyone (including myself) seems to look for 'more data', 'more insights', 'more feedback'. And ignores what they already have. Or for some reason, devalues what is already there. I do this with sales and marketing data sometimes. Wanting to get a new salesforce dashboard, or a new pipeline report, or a new GA chart to show me something super specific. And sure, it's useful. It tells me something. But it's pretty rare that it unearths a true gem. With Guidebook customers, we see this all.of.the.time!! Event organizers will try to gather feedback onsite, on iPads, with paper forms, with apps, through face to face questions, with badge scanning, and exhibitor conversations. Almost all of it subjective. But they'll ignore the completely objective data from their app. Which speaker was the most interesting to attendees? -> See who got the most views. Which session was the most interesting? -> See which got the most views, and the most adds to personal schedules. Which exhibitor/sponsor got the most engagement and interest? -> See whose profiles got the most interaction, or who collected the most leads. That data alone tells you not what people want to tell you - but what people actually did, and it's already right there in front of you. I'm now trying to remind myself of this in everything I do, and not overlook what's at the end of my nose.
