In Kimaanya, a small community where the spirit of solidarity and kindness thrived. This is the story of Dream Heart Foundation Uganda (DHEF-UGANDA), a local non-profit organization with a heart as vast as the ocean, which embarked on a mission to ensure every child in the community has access to scholastic materials. Inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, DHEF-UGANDA recognized the power of education in transforming lives. DHEF-UGANDA`s journey began when we noticed a group of children who were home playing during school times and it came to our understanding after a short conversion with their parents that they didn`t attend school due to lack of basic scholastic materials that many take for granted. Determined to make a change, Dream Heart Foundation launched a community initiative named "Education Programme Aid" The project aimed not only to provide books but also to equip children with essential learning tools such as notebooks, pencils, and art supplies, fostering a holistic educational experience. DHEF-UGANDA's initiative is igniting community transformation and becoming more than just an initiative; it is a beacon of hope and unity.Through DHEF-UGANDA's unwavering dedication and the community's support, children who once didn`t have access to education have been given school supplies that help them during school times, their minds and hearts open to the endless possibilities that education could offer. DHEF-UGANDA's story is a testament to how the collective efforts of individuals can contribute to achieving global goals, making the world a better place one child at a time. It serves as a reminder that change begins with a single act of kindness, inspiring others to follow suit, creating a ripple effect that reaches far beyond the confines of a small community. However we can`t do this alone, your support plays a crucial role in our efforts to combat illiteracy. By offering assistance, we can reach more children in Uganda in need of educational supplies. In regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where 2.5 million children remain out of school, innovative solutions are urgently needed. 🚸 De Laas Gul’s Community School Model is paving the way by turning homes into classrooms, empowering girls who have long been left behind. By leveraging community support, DLG has transformed private homes into safe learning spaces for 1,200 girls, taught by dedicated local women like Ayesha, who turned her veranda into a vibrant classroom. This initiative not only educates girls but also uplifts entire families, fostering a culture of learning and empowerment. Mothers are now sitting alongside their daughters, gaining literacy skills they never thought possible. But the journey is far from over. Your support can help us expand this model to reach even more girls. Whether it's donating, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, together, we can close the education gap in Pakistan. 🔗 Read the full story to see how grassroots efforts are transforming communities: www.delaasgul.org.pk #SocialImpact #EmpowerHer #CommunitySchools #PakistanLiteracy #EducationInnovation #NonProfitLeadership"

🌍 At Ubuntu Youth, we believe in the power of education to transform lives. In 2024, through our initiative, Educate a Child, we’re on a mission to uplift three underserved schools in the Western Region of Ghana. These are schools where the desire to learn is strong, but access to resources is limited. Our aim is not just to provide supplies but to equip students with essential skills, ignite their potential, and inspire them to dream beyond their current circumstances. 💡 But we can’t do it alone. Your support, whether large or small, can make a world of difference. By contributing, you're not just donating to a cause – you’re changing a child's future. Let’s work together to create lasting change, one student at a time. For more details on how to get involved or support, reach out through the contact details in the video. Together, we rise. Did you know that for £6 you can provide books for one child for a year? and for £2.50 you can provide pens and pencils for one child for a year. However, children in most rural areas of Uganda lack scholastic materials and miss school, miss writing notes and exercises and can’t do revision because they do not have notes. As new school term opens, we are looking for support as many children as can in their education journey. If you could spare anything, please support our Gofundme campaign so that we can provide children in the rural areas of Uganda with scholastic materials. https://lnkd.in/dRJzCy4g No contribution is too small, and your sharing of the campaign is equally cherished. Let's come together to make a difference in the lives of these deserving children. With your support, we can empower orphaned and vulnerable children to succeed and thrive through education. Today is #GivingTuesday, a day for us to come together and empower the communities that mean the most to us. 💖 With incredibly pressing issues such as food insecurity, personal safety, and lack of representation, we are fortunate to have some strong supports in our community of South Etobicoke. This GivingTuesday, we'd like to highlight three of these amazing non-profit organizations! For more details, check out our previous three posts. @foundationforstudentsuccess addresses issues of poverty, hunger and poor nutrition for students across Toronto by removing barriers to their education. In particular, their Beyond 3:30 program gives children between the ages of 8 and 14 a safe and welcoming place for sports and physical fitness, a nutritious meal, and homework support each school day — opportunities that are out of reach for most families facing poverty issues. @indigenousfriendsassociation supports Indigenous communities across Canada through free digital literacy, education, and career-building programs, which utilize the Indigenous ways of knowing. Their programs like IndigiTAL and IndigiTECH continue to bridge the gap in educational and employment opportunities for Indigenous communities by offering hands-on learning, mentorship, and pathways to promising careers in the tech industry. @womenshabitat of Etobicoke provides vital support to self-identified women and their dependents who are survivors of violence and poverty. Their emergency shelter and outreach center provides essential services for individuals fleeing violence such as group and individual counselling, parenting support and housing assistance. Women’s Habitat is committed to identifying barriers to women’s equality and advocating for change. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a big impact. Definitely check out the organizations above, and if you have any charities you'd like to shout out, feel free to share them in the comments! #givingtuesday

My friend @KasaineAlex is trying to fund his school in Masai Mara, Olkinyei Village, Kenya Kasaine, I, and others, are looking for people to support these young brilliant kids in education by building a well constructed school. Although Alex has taken the initiative to change this situation, and is having an impact through approaching friends, and well-wishers, to improve the conditions for children, who are joining the school - IT WILL TAKE MORE THAN A LOCAL COMMUNITY TO BUILD A SCHOOL - and a safe area for girls. A lack of infrastucture, lack of teachers and accommodation in rural areas where you would have to rent in the locality is a problem. DONATE ====== Will you give? https://gofund.me/5781c38c Every dollar raised - TARGET $500 - will support a feeding program at the school and construction of kitchen. In 2025 our aim is to expand our fundraising reach further to break the cycle of uneducated adults which creates a further cycle of poverty within communities. SPREAD THE WORD ============= If you cannot donate, with cost of living crisis please share on social media platforms and direct people to our Facebook page https://lnkd.in/ed9iSjeq Not for GIVING TUESDAY, but the beauty of giving is the collective power of small contibutions. Our combined efforts will create lasting change. I am supporting this school from the UK, and my wish is for the school to have permament structures - classrooms, ablutions facilities, food programs, and clean and safe drinking water, administration block staffroom, headteacher office and kitchen dinning hall. This will cost 11 million Kenya money for the all construction to be completed. ABOUT ===== Mara light school education project was founded 2017, to support innovative community that promotes education and talents - especially among young people. It is found at Maasai Mara, Kenya in a village called Olkinyei. But, development didn't come to these parts of Maasai Mara Olkinyei Village easily. The major constraint for children, and parents was that the nearest primary schools are between 2 and 6 hours working, and thus children face barriers to access good quality education. These barriers lead to poverty, gender discrimination in adulthood, which Kissaine Alex and his school is trying to address. Climate change is also having an even greater impact - as Alex knows, only too well - his school flooded in the recent Kenya floods, and the school lost valuable reading material like books. The ripple effects of the above challenges will be faced for generations to come leading to higher rates of poverty, social inequality and unemployment - UNLESS WE HELP NOW. Mara light school exists to empower young people by giving them a life changing education. We care for our pupils future by touching hearts engaging minds and nurturing talents. We are committed to accomplishing our school care values include: 1) integrity 2) Respect 3) Resilience

Today is International Youth Day. International Youth Day is an opportunity to bring youth issues to the attention of the international community and to celebrate the potential of youth as partners in today’s global society. The Day is also a chance to celebrate young people’s voices, actions, and initiatives, as well as their meaningful, universal, and equitable engagement. This year’s theme for International Youth Day is “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development.” This theme highlights the key connection between digitalization and accelerating the progress of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing the crucial contributions of young people in this transformative process. Youth have the creativity, the potential and the capacity to make change happen – for themselves, for their communities, and for the rest of the world. Today and every day, York Region CAS is committed to understanding and supporting the important roles that our youth play in our community and works to provide equitable and accessible services to ensure their wellbeing. Highlighted below are initiatives hosted by York Region CAS in support of youth in our communities: Stay in School Awards Public School and Post-Secondary Focus Since 2015, York Region Children’s Aid Society (YRCAS) has hosted the annual Stay in School Awards event in partnership with the Canadian Federation of University Women Aurora-Newmarket chapter. This partnership’s advocacy led to other local service clubs joining in to provide financial donations. In 2021, the York Region Children’s Fund embraced the Stay in School Awards Event as their annual inaugural event. Stay in School Awards – Public School Focus Students in grades 8 – 12 who have had success during their school year receive a certificate of recognition for their achievement and a gift card. The awards are provided during the Stay in School awards ceremony which recognizes the achievements of each youth and encourages them to continue making gains academically. The gift card funds and costs associated with the event (if any) are raised through fundraising efforts by the York Region Children’s Fund. In 2022, 74 awards were given to youth. Stay in School Awards – Post Secondary Focus Students attending College, University, or a Trades Program apply for an annual Stay in School Award. The funds for the awards are raised through fundraising efforts by the York Region Children’s Fund, including annual Award Sponsors (as per above). In 2022, $21,500.00 in awards were provided to 16 Award recipients helping them pay for costs related to their post-secondary or trades/apprentice programs. To support this event, donations can be made at: https://lnkd.in/dWveVnKQ (in the dropdown box choose – Stay in School)
