Satellite connectivity plays a big part in providing healthcare in remote and rural areas. It facilitates telemedicine and overcomes barriers to reach patients in far-off places. That's why we introduced Kacific Community WiFi. Together with our partners, we are able to establish networks of high-speed WiFi hotspots. These hotspots provide internet access through user-friendly prepaid vouchers, ensuring accessible and affordable connectivity for local communities in underserved areas. Through our collaboration with GuarantCo, we've successfully implemented this initiative across schools, health clinics, and community halls in Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, and the Philippines. Over 350 locations have benefited from free terminals with no upfront costs and an additional 30GB of data, showcasing our dedication to supporting essential medical services. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 Healthcare providers across Rwanda are praising the impact of STARLINK internet on their ability to deliver services and streamline operations. Introduced on a pilot basis in June 2023, the high-speed satellite network has significantly improved connectivity in health centers, particularly in remote areas. The Rwandan government, in collaboration with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, initiated the pilot project by installing Starlink internet in 40 health centers across regions including Rusizi, Rulindo, and Kigali. Eight months into the implementation, healthcare workers report substantial improvements in their work environment and service delivery capabilities. Jean Louis Muhirwa, a midwife at Buyoga Health Centre in Gicumbi District, described the previous situation as "terrible," with persistent connectivity issues limiting access to only a few devices during morning hours. Now, the center enjoys reliable internet access around the clock, supporting multiple connected devices without interruption. The impact extends to administrative tasks as well. Immaculée Nyinawibambe, head of Kajevuba Health Centre in Ntarabana Sector, highlighted how Starlink has facilitated their transition from paper-based records to digital systems, significantly reducing patient wait times and improving service quality. Yves N. Iradukunda, PMP, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of ICT and Innovation, underscored the government's focus on connecting health facilities in rural areas lacking access to fiber optic or other high-speed alternatives. #StarlinkinRwanda #HealthcareConnectivity #DigitalHealthcare #RuralInternet #AfricanTechnology

Healthcare providers in Rwanda are lauding the transformative impact of STARLINK internet on service delivery and operational efficiency. Launched as a pilot project in June 2023, this high-speed satellite network has significantly enhanced connectivity in health centers, especially in remote regions. The initiative, a collaboration between the Rwandan government and the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, has installed Starlink internet in 40 health centers across various areas, including Rusizi, Rulindo, and Kigali. Eight months into the project, healthcare workers report substantial improvements in their work environments and the quality of care provided to patients. Jean Louis Muhirwa, a midwife at Buyoga Health Centre in Gicumbi District, noted the previous challenges posed by unreliable connectivity, which limited access to only a few devices during peak hours. With Starlink, the center now enjoys consistent internet access, allowing multiple devices to connect seamlessly and enhancing the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery. The benefits of STARLINK extend beyond patient care to administrative processes. Immaculée Nyinawibambe, head of Kajevuba Health Centre in Ntarabana Sector, emphasized that the reliable internet connection has enabled their transition from paper-based records to digital systems. This shift has not only reduced patient wait times but also improved the overall quality of service, showcasing how technology can streamline operations within the healthcare sector. Yves N. Iradukunda, PMP, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of ICT and Innovation, highlighted the government's commitment to connecting health facilities in rural areas that lack access to fiber optic and other high-speed alternatives. The STARLINK initiative represents a significant step toward bridging the digital divide in healthcare, ensuring that all Rwandans receive the quality care they deserve. #Starlink #Rwanda #HealthcareInnovation #DigitalTransformation #Connectivity #Telemedicine #PatientCare #HealthcareDelivery #ICT #TonyBlairInstitute #RemoteAreas #DigitalHealth https://zurl.co/WcWy
