This is a very interesting snip from Channel 4 News (UK) with regards to Gender Based Violence. It highlights the need for accountability and that we can't develop a violence free community unless everyone is working towards this. Data from the UK included in this clip shows that over a 12 month period the number of men who have an allegation (rape, domestic violence and child sex abuse) against them in London is 34,000. Across the whole of the UK the number of women who say they've been sexually assaulted is 800,000. The number of men with a sexual interest in children is approx 250,000. Change is not possible without accountability. Allocating blame to victims because of the clothes they wear, the time/place they were at, or any other factor does not change the fact that violence was perpetrated against them. https://lnkd.in/gXppJ3hU

Insightful overview article about reparations for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence. I would argue that more is required than reparations to reestablish justice, but it is clearly important to express recognition of the suffering, and to repudiate sexual violence as a weapon of war. https://lnkd.in/eeV46qV4
