With free movement within its borders, this area opens new doors for our country and brings endless opportunities to travel and trade. Particularly for the RES industry in Romania, Schengen membership allows for faster deployment of technology and optimized costs. We are looking forward to capitalizing on the benefits of full Schengen membership for our country. Developing offshore wind is good for economic, social and territorial cohesion - I believe this is clear form the cover of the Ninth Report on Economic, Social, and Territorial Cohesion. 👇 And Bulgaria 🇧🇬 (e.g. InvestBulgaria Agency / Българска агенция за инвестиции) does not get it. Even after Romania 🇷🇴 and Greece 🇬🇷 got it and adopted their offshore wind laws. Hence, the Economic Development Index of Bulgarian seaside municipalities is lower than that of the rest of the country and of Central and Eastern Europe. 👍Big thanks to Comunidad Andina for its kind invitation to participate as a speaker at its event on 55 years of #Regional #Integration last 22 May in Lima (Peru🇵🇪). ✅In this context, I had the privilege to join the roundtable on #Electricity #Interconnections together with #DiegoPardow Ministerio de Energía Chile Pablo Hevia-Koch International Energy Agency (IEA) #AlanCampos Ministerio de Energía y Minas Jesus A. Tejeda Ricardez Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo with Alexandra Planas as moderator. ✅The Andean Community is a trade bloc of four countries #Bolivia🇧🇴, #Colombia🇨🇴, #Ecuador🇪🇨 and #Peru🇵🇪 with 115 million citizens.  #Chile🇨🇱, #Argentina🇦🇷, #Brazil🇧🇷, #Paraguay🇵🇾 and #Uruguay🇺🇾 are associate members and #Spain🇪🇸 is one of the observer countries. ✅This regional integration initiative promotes #FreeTrading within the region and it already benefits from #SupraNational🤝 regulation. #Energy #Integration🔗 is one of the key priorities for the development of this region and more cross-border regulation is coming. ✅A fantastic opportunity to learn about many of the specificities of this electricity regional system and feed the debate with the #EU experience about the electricity regional initiatives decades ago and how these regions evolved gradually towards #MoreInterconnected Member States and a Single Day-Ahead & Intraday Couplings #SDAC #SIDC. 📣Some messages were: 📌Initial #bilateral agreements between two countries, to build new cross-border infrastructure, are super welcome.  A lot of the current electricity interconnections were promoted so. 📌The #regional ambition came later in different zones of Europe and this regional cooperation is still fundamental in many complex integration projects in the EU. 📌Transitioning from a regional towards an 🇪🇺#EU_wide scale has required more than 30 years of both bottom-up and top-down integration initiatives. 📌#Maximizing and #optimizing the use of #existing cross-border capacities is essential. 📌Making #society aware of the #benefits of the electricity market integration is fundamental to navigating the political and regulatory instabilities in integration projects. The EU energy crisis in 2022 offers us relevant numbers that help spread out how beneficial our #integration and #unity was for Europeans in those circumstances.   ✅Although today we already have a 🇪🇺Pan-EU Single Day & Intraday couplings #SDAC & #SIDC in the #EUInternalMarket, building more cross-border electricity infrastructure is still a serious challenge towards #MoreEurope and #MoreMarkets.

More important #GreenCapital meetings in Argentina.🤝 Recently, part of our team met with a representative of the Delegation of the European Union in Argentina and the the Polish Embassy in Argentina (Ministerstwo Spraw Zagranicznych). Our Head of Operations, Wiktor Wiszorowski and our Project Manager Argentina, Nicolas Ibagon Carvajal represented our team in this unique meeting. The support of the European Union Delegation and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland underscored the international importance of our work, further strengthening our ties and paving the way for joint efforts in shaping green hydrogen for the Argentine government. The highlight of our trip was formalizing a memorandum of understanding with the Argentine Investment Office, solidifying their role in dealing with national and provincial governments. On site, we conducted in-depth field trips to potential project sites, discussing with landowners and discussing lease agreements. Our initiative is of particular importance to the EU delegation, as our plans for green ammonia production fit perfectly with Europe's ambitious energy transition goals. We watch as allies, having asked—even begged—us to ramp up production, shake their heads at our inaction, stalling both their reliance and our growth. Mike Rose spells it out clearly: we're risking our children's future by stumbling over red tape and hesitation. Cenovus echoes this sentiment, emphasizing our role in a secure, sustainable global energy framework. Yet, our government's leisurely stroll towards meaningful policy changes is frustratingly out of step with the urgency these leaders are talking about.
