✨ Enter the Dali multiverse ✨ Year 4 dove headfirst into the kaleidoscopic genius of Salvador Dalí at the Dali Cybernetics Exhibition in Athens. Picture this: melting clocks, dreamlike landscapes, and a touch of VR magic that blurred the lines between art and tech. ✨ Our students got to fully admire Dalí’s brilliance—they walked through it, discovering how his wild imagination predicted the future. Did you know Dalí envisioned holograms before we even had smartphones? Mind = blown. 💭💥 #VeritaSchool #internationalschool #athensprivateschool #privateeducation #privateschool #primaryschool #nurseryschool #secondaryschool #highschool #fieldtrip

You're strapped in, VR headset snug, hands gripping the controls. The chair beneath you pitches and rolls, mimicking every wave and wake. You're twisting, turning, even flipping a full 360° as you navigate your virtual vessel into port. Pivot latest creation: Motion Sim Chair. Designed to simulate Fast Craft movements and manoeuvres, the Motion Sim Chair assists navigators in maintaining navigational safety in challenging conditions. The Motion Sim Chair debuted at the 2024 Land Forces exhibition in Melbourne last September, with select attendees from Australia and overseas testing the accuracy of vessel movements and realism of the visual environment. Through a high-definition screen above the Motion Sim Chair, onlookers shared what the navigator on the Motion Sim Chair saw within the VR headset. What aspects of this technology excite you most? Be inspired by science and research at the SPIN 2030 Science Festival on March 8 and 9 at the Technische Sammlungen Dresden. Our VRAD project team Florian Schier and Daniel Badeja will be there on Friday. Meet them on the ground floor. At the science festival, you can experience a mixed reality environment in which the virtual and real worlds merge. A VR headset allows you to interact with the virtual world. You will be able to see the real environment, but you will also find yourself in a scenario that exposes you to extreme (virtual) heights. This experience usually produces quite strong reactions, even in people without a fear of heights. The aim of the VRAD project is to develop virtual reality (VR)-based therapies for anxiety disorders. It focuses on the rapid creation of customized VR scenarios, shared virtual experiences with therapists and natural communication during therapy. The project aims to enable psychotherapists to create their own VR scenarios without the need for large software development teams. ℹ Learn more about the project at https://lnkd.in/eUSYa4Jz 🌐 Visit event website: https://lnkd.in/eZ8cZJUj 📸 SMWK/Ben Gierig #science #festival #research #wissenschaft

At DisplayWeek, I met with Panamorph in the i-Zone. They have developed Exit Pupil Modulation technology that allows an LCD-based VR headset using a pancake lens to achieve the visual performance of an OLED display with up to a 90% power reduction. The demo at DisplayWeek 2024 showed this result in a modified MetaQuest 3 pancake optic. Exit Pupil Modulation creates two imaging systems. The first is a modified LED backlight array that is imaged in the exit pupil of the pancake lens. The second creates a virtual image of the LCD panel, just as in the unmodified MetaQuest3. The modified backlight unit has a microlens array designed so that each LED in the array fills the entire LCD panel. While this may look like local dimming, it is not. In an LCD display with local dimming, each LED modifies the luminance in a small part of the LCD panel - a zone. With Exit Pupil Modulation, each LED floods the LCD panel so modifications to the LEDs in the backlight alter the size of the eyebox or exit pupil. This allows the designer to trade off power & contrast vs. eyebox size. This can be a very useful tradeoff, especially if eye tracking is employed to mitigate the smaller eyebox concern. #DisplayWeek, #VR, #ExitPupilModulation https://lnkd.in/eDVyWT96

If you support the "A Better Inspector" App, shared a post, or recommended to a friend, you have helped make this possible, and its growing. This is the first Phased Array Demo in VR! You adjust the degrees on the middle right (+-5 degrees), and it updates the layout. Use the controller to scan the plate and view the display. More things will be added, like a cable and possibly the OmniScan, but I like the larger floating display. Now people who want to learn to UTPA can actually learn the display instead of thinking it will just rain tomorrow.... (Video is a little laggy, the data is based on a server to save space, with it being on a server, adding more plate scans/degrees can be done live without updates, so may have to tinker with this.) #API #Inspection #OmniScan #OmniPC #Ultrasonics #NDE #PhasedArray

#PolydeckProTip Master Material Flow with Smart Aperture Choices What's the right aperture shape for me? Each aperture shape is designed to combat certain application challenges and produce material that meet certain specification requirements. Today, we review two aperture designs that can help with better material flow: VR and Slotted. VR Apertures: The champions of flexibility and self-cleaning. Ideal for applications facing challenges with near-size particle plugging and fines build-up, VR apertures adapt to allow larger particles to pass, significantly reducing or eliminating plugging and blinding. Slotted Apertures: Maximize productivity with slotted designs. Oriented parallel to the material flow, they excel in drainage rates, making them perfect for operations not bound by strict particle separation criteria. Adjust the orientation to control plugging and manage oversize particle passage without compromising efficiency.
