On World Environment Day, we want to showcase several of our sustainable development projects that prioritise energy efficiency, eco-friendly construction practices, and community well-being.    Nottingham 360 – Working closely with Winvic Construction Ltd as the main contractor, the scheme delivers a best-in-class warehouse with leading ESG credentials that capture net zero in construction, net zero in operation enabled and BREEAM Excellent and EPC A. Other design features of note that have contributed to the ESG credentials include PV panels, green roofs to the warehouse canopies and a bio-diversity enhancement and management plan.   Nailsea – This residential development of 24 homes in the popular commuter town of Nailsea is being constructed with energy conservation in mind, adopting high levels of thermal efficiency. This will be achieved using air tightness of the building envelope, minimising thermal bridges, high-performance insulation and glazing as well as installing energy efficient lighting and appliances. The homes are being fitted with highly efficient hydrogen-blend ready gas combi boilers and solar panels on the roof (with the option to have a PV battery fitted to store generated electricity) and EV charging points as standard.   Greet – A residential development of six family homes in the Gloucestershire village of Greet. The developer’s fabric-first approach to these new build homes will utilise the best possible design and technologies and ensure that the houses are energy efficient. Air source heat pumps feeding into underfloor heating, energy efficient lighting and appliances, solar panels on the roof, including a 5kW PV battery fitted into the roof space to store generated electricity and EV charging points are fitted as standard.    Trafford Gate, Manchester – A speculative development of an 82,332 sq ft (GIA) multi-let industrial scheme, in a highly accessible location adjacent to Trafford Retail Park and a short distance from the M60. The development is expected to achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’ and an EPC rating of A. The scheme will include 11 E.V. charging spaces, and a further 11 cable-enabled spaces, whilst solar panels will be positioned on each unit.    From innovative net-zero commercial spaces to forward-thinking residential communities, we're excited to continue building a greener future!   #WorldEnvironmentDay #SustainableConstruction #sustainability #ResidentialDevelopment #CommercialRealEstate

🚧 Major Progress on Our Woolwich HMO Project! 🚧 In this Week 2 update, I break down what we’ve achieved so far: 🔨 3-Metre Extension: Foundation laid and the manhole moved for the extension. The concrete’s in, and it’s taking shape! 🙌 🏠 Room Expansions: We resized a sitting area to meet HMO standards, now at 7 sqm. Not only that, but we also splitted the old bathroom to create en-suite for two rooms. Knocked down walls to maximize space, including a new ensuite for the top floor’s biggest room! 💡 Electrical Work: We started installing cables for lighting and bathrooms, working from the top down. We are thrilled to announce that Hammersmith & Fulham Council has given our innovative proposals for the revitalisation of Albert and Swedish Wharf the green light. EPR’s design for developer Henley Investment Management Ltd transforms an underused two-acre site by Wandsworth Bridge into a thriving mixed-use development, delivering 276 apartments - 35% of which will be affordable housing - communal landscaped gardens and a Thames Path extension, offering riverside access to new residents and the existing community. The redevelopment of Albert and Swedish Wharf is also a unique opportunity to bring the safeguarded wharf back into use. A new 55,000 sq ft last-mile logistics facility will tap into the River Thames’ potential to handle light freight, allowing goods to be sustainably distributed across London. On the former Auckland Carter Holt Harvey plywood factory site, grew the mega mixed use project that was named Eden. Residential, commercial, retail, the whole shebang. This particular building was the only full structure retained. A renovation job, where as much of the original New York Loft Style timber and brick structure was retained as possible . I was the assistant development manager/project manager looking after landlords works for tenants and making sure they got what we had promised in their various agreements to lease. A cafe/coffee roaster, a small warehouse and retail shop front and office tenants. Some lessons. 1. Be crystal clear with photographic examples what ‘renovated character condition’ (or something similar wording- its been a while) actually means. Lots of debates over what should have been enclosed or exposed! 2. Split system air-conditioning system is different to a VAV system. Just fyi for young players interpreting outline specs with a tenant - after installation. 3. Red: The colour of my face when I embarrassingly got told by the main contractor that the power transformer was not in his contract and my problem. 4. White: The colour of my face when the power company informed me that lead times for generators are indeed not a week or two like I pleaded, but six months after the lease is scheduled to start with late occupancy LD’s…. ......Let’s just say the tenants moved in on time and I used the longest fattest extension cord you can imagine.
