This. Should. Not. Happen. Our heroes should never feel alone. Since 2003, Soldiers' Angels has sent over 1,038,900 care packages to deployed Service Members. That's 1,038,900 morale-boosting pieces of mail that ensure they know America stands with them. America remembers them. But we need more. Right now, nearly 300 deployed Service Members are currently waiting to be supported by Soldiers' Angels. They feel alone and isolated—they need support. January fundraising events to benefit military members, first responders and collision industry The National Auto Body Council (NABC) will host its second annual Gala and 30th-anniversary celebration on January 20th and 21st in Indian Wells, California. The event, themed "The Best Is Yet to Come," will benefit the Changing and Saving Lives Foundation, which supports veterans, military families, and first responders. NABC members will be recognized for their contributions, and the NABC President's Award will be presented. In addition to the gala, NABC will host various events, including a golf tournament and family activities. The Collision Industry Foundation (CIF) will also hold its 14th annual "Cocktails for a Cause" event during Collision Industry Week to raise emergency relief funds for collision repair industry professionals facing crises. Christmas is a special time for many, a time for friends and family. But for all too many people, Christmas can be a difficult time, a time where isolation and loneliness can be amplified. On leaving the Armed Forces, many find the transition to civy street a difficult time. It can be a lonely time trying to forge a new life outside of the Armed Forces family - even more so when your time in the Armed Forces is cut short due to injury, illness and deeper battles. This is why support pathways for Veterans are so important. As well as receiving the support and guidance needed, they can then link in with the SWV Veteran Support Network, so that loneliness and isolation is less of a problem. Sometimes we don't know how lost we are until we find our path again. Sometimes we don't realise how much we needed help and support until we get it. This is certainly the case for many Veterans who have battled difficult times, faced unseen challenges, as well as dealing with pain, injury and illness. Reaching out and asking for help can feel like a leap of faith, a jump into the unknown. But sometimes you can land just where you need to be - into a support network that gets it, into a place, a group of people, an activity that can help you find your way again.
