Reposting for #NIAW, this podcast with our very own Noa Hedaya where she discusses the causes of infertility, treatments and how to help your mental health while on a fertility journey. https://lnkd.in/eZwHUgeS Having someone to talk to during fertility challenges can help you stay grounded and remind you that you are not at fault. If you are blaming yourself or struggling emotionally, a reproductive mental health therapist can help you work through it. #NIAW2024 #LeaveYourMark2024 #NationalInfertilityAwarenessWeek #InfertilityAwareness

Did you know that post-menopausal women are four times more likely to experience a major depressive relapse? The National Institute of Mental Health (NIH) has found that "being post-menopausal elevated the risk four-fold for major depressive relapse but did not significantly elevate the risk for new MDD (major depressive disorder)." This underscores the importance of understanding how menopause may uniquely impacts mental health. At EleMental Health CA, we’re here to support you. As the first-of-its-kind mental health residential treatment facility designed for women, by women, we take a whole-person approach to care. Our tailored programs address the unique physiological and emotional challenges women face throughout every stage of life. #MentalHealthMatters #DepressionAwareness #MenopauseSupport #WomensHealth #EmpoweredWomen #HealingJourney #WholePersonCare #BreakTheStigma #EleMentalHealthCA

Do you think we're getting better at talking about our mental health? Would you speak about it at work? It does feel like we are definitely getting much better at approaching the tricker topics and I was really chuffed to get to speak with Simon Blake, CEO of MHFA England® as he shared the incredible work the organisation is doing and how it now has 300,000 mental health first aiders in the UK. It's the perfect way to end the current series of The F Word at Work, which is the podcast I've been making Fertility Matters at Work a niche within a niche, yet the reality is the emotional toll of fertility struggles are huge! It keeps coming to bite you from time to time, even if you are fortunate to have a successful outcome. Ahead of #mentalhealthawareness week and with this week being #maternalmentalhealth week I hope you find this a useful listen, as Simon talks about the importance of listening and offering support, rather than trying to "fix" someone's situation and I think that is so important to think about when someone shares with you what they are dealing with. Thank you again to Apricity Fertility for your support with this series, we couldn't have done it without you. Good content can entertain, inspire, educate, or convince. Great content can make a difference in someone's life. Love the collaboration between Headspace and Spring Fertility announced earlier this month. The duo is partnering to release a collection of mental health resources designed to support individuals navigating fertility challenges. According to the press release, the collection will include audio, video, and meditations that can help individuals cope with isolation, uncertainty, physical overwhelm, and more. Given that 25-60% of people who experience fertility challenges report psychiatric symptoms with heightened levels of anxiety and depression—significantly higher than controls—(The National Institutes of Health), I especially love how specific this initiative is, acknowledging that the solution for this group isn't one-size-fits-all mental health resources. Looking forward to seeing the impact it has! What content or collaboration have you seen lately that's making a difference?

During Mental Health Awareness Month in May, we're shining a light on the emotional journey of fertility. Navigating fertility challenges can be emotionally taxing, and it's essential to recognize the impact it can have on mental health. Let's come together to foster understanding, offer support, and promote self-care practices that nurture both our emotional and physical well-being throughout the fertility journey. Together, we can break down barriers, reduce stigma, and cultivate a supportive community where everyone feels heard and valued. #MentalHealthAwareness #FertilityJourney #SupportInFertility

Facing the holiday season can have its challenges, especially when navigating your fertility journey. A few tips from me are to: 1.) Reach out to your support groups! Online or in-person groups, friends, etc. 2.) When asked challenging questions, you are allowed to protect your mental health and say, "No, I'm not ready to discuss it at this time, thank you." 3.) Lean on your partner and let them lean on you. You're in this together, and it's easier to weather the storms with someone trusted at your side 💞 #protectyourpeace #infertilityandtheholidays #infertilityjourney

Day 3: NATIONAL WOMEN’S HEALTH WEEK – Shining a Light on Maternal Mental Health 🤰 DYK that perinatal mood and anxiety disorders affect 1 in 5 women? Despite the prevalence of these issues, many women do not receive adequate treatment and support for various reasons. 🔹 Women may hesitate to discuss their struggles due to fears of judgment, healthcare providers may not routinely screen for mental health conditions in expectant and new mothers, and accessing proper services for treatment can be challenging. 🌟 The encouraging news is that more individuals are sharing their experiences with perinatal mental health, and accessible resources for women and families are more readily available than ever before. 🤍 If you're experiencing postpartum depression or anxiety, remember, you're not alone. Seeking help demonstrates strength. For confidential support 24/7, call 1-833-TLC-MAMA.
