Yuck -- we hate progression lag! Last year, Trisha Neogi gave an excellent webinar on this insidious contributor to the gender pay gap called Progression Lag: The Secret Penalty on Your Pay. It's worth a watch if you've been stuck trying to move up the ladder -- it has great example of do's and don'ts to help you get unstuck! Find it here: https://lnkd.in/gvph7J5n

Latinas lead in every industry, but for the first time in 20 years, the wage gap has widened for Latina workers. On average, Latina workers stand to lose more than $1.2M over a 40-year career due to the wage gap. Today on #LatinaEqualPay Day, we celebrate the recent signing of MA's historic wage transparency bill, which is a positive step in advancing gender & racial equity. https://lnkd.in/e4XBxeTy

This is a really insightful article regarding the introduction of the Equal Pay Act 1970 and how these brave women went on strike for what they believed in. It’s sad that over 50 years later this can still be an issue #equalpay #history #employmentlaw

Today is #AANHPI Equal Pay Day. Research from our friends at National Partnership for Women & Families uncovered that Asian American, Native Hawaiian, & Pacific Islander women are typically paid just 80 cents for every dollar paid to white, non-Hispanic men nationally. But how? According to NPWF, "the biggest driver of these gaps is "occupational segregation" – the fact that people of different races and genders are unevenly represented in different kinds of jobs... and that's not an accident": https://lnkd.in/gw-vRwAr We can help tackle occupational segregation & the pay gap with more transparent pay data. @AG Letitia James, thank you for your support for gender pay equity and the NYS Equal Rights Amendment. In New York, full-time Black women workers earn only 66¢ to every $1 a white, non-Hispanic male worker earns. We MUST improve our pay transparency laws to close this unjust wage gap! Job postings with overly broad salary ranges undermine the positive impact our NY pay equity laws have on the most marginalized workers. For #BlackWomensEqualPayDay, we must close loopholes in the law and demand more transparency! #EqualPayNY
