Changemaker 💡 and self-advocate ♿ Committee Member, Board Member, and Postgraduate majoring in Accessibility Studies. Building a pipeline for the Disability community.
8moI’m voicing a serious concern regarding potential ADA violations by the Disability:IN NextGen Leaders Program. Last year, after being accepted, I was removed from the program during medical leave from college due to my disability. My mentor was trying to find me a better fit, but instead of helping, the Sr. Director NextGen Initiatives removed me. This year, my attempts to address this issue were met with retaliatory actions. The program’s limitation to 1 year recent grads and active students does not consider those of us with mental disabilities, further restricting our access to opportunities. As an advocate for accessibility, postgrad in accessibility studies, a committee member, board member, and a candidate for the State House of Representatives, I am committed to fighting for our rights and ensuring equal access for all. Discrimination and ableism have no place in our society, and I urge for immediate revision of these exclusionary practices. Disability:IN should not punish us for going on medieval leave to attend their programs. They should support the disability community or remove us from their name. Please boycott Disability:IN until they change their program restrictions. Support the disability community.

1ySo inspiring to hear from someone who has found purpose and meaning despite their disability.❤️❤️❤️ We are more than our disabilities. My story story about my dog Izzy is truly heartwarming, and changed me. Let's take a moment to appreciate and honor our veterans, especially during this holiday season. My mom and I are placing wreaths on local veterans' graves tomorrow. I refuses to let his wheelchair stop me from paying respect, rain or snow. Let's all show our gratitude to those who have fought for our country.🎄🇺🇸 Check out Gabe's book, "Standing Up for America's Bullied," on Gabeandizzy.com. #veterans #disabilityawareness #respect #gratitude #holidayseason
