Join us for another recap of the past few weeks as we reflect on what happened in September. As usual, there was a lot happening, and it was fantastic to see. So, let’s dive in!
September saw our incredibly successful Apprentice Competition here in the Group. Members of staff from each business were given the challenge of coming up with a business concept to take tp the streets of Galway to raise funds for their chosen charities. With ideas ranging from candles to prints of Galway, calendar's and bespoke t-shirts there was no shortage of ingenuity from the teams. The judging panel of Group Operations Director: Wayne Neilon, Group Finance Director: Brian Lynch and Group Human Resources Manager: Jacqueline O’ Dowd had their work cut out to pick a winning team but Galway Bay Golf Resort edged out the competition to win.
Freshers Week
September in Galway sees the return of the students and that always kicks off with the excitement of Freshers week, this year we were delighted to work with our partners in Monster to run a host of fantastic student events for the week including our now legendary Silent Disco, an end of Brat Summer Party (if you don’t know don’t ask) in addition to showcasing some of the top up and coming Dj talent in the city for two fantastic gigs.
In late September HYDE Hotel hosted its first wedding showcase. The Sunday event saw couples get the opportunity to meet supplies and chat to our team about providing the perfect venue for their big day. HYDE Hotel is not your typical wedding venue. We pride ourselves on offering an alternative to the traditional wedding ballroom, with our versatile space, JEKYLL, taking center stage. JEKYLL can host your civil ceremony and seamlessly transform into a stylish drinks reception area. Imagine exchanging vows in a space adorned with a boho-inspired garden theme, providing an enchanting backdrop for your wedding photos.
We were delighted to the VIP & Stellar Self Care Sessions. It was a great night of style and conversation with the wonderful Clare McKenna and Fiona Morgan Coleman. Singer and Sound Artist Fiona Guiheen did a soundbath for the attendees which was one of the highlights of the event. The attendees got fantastic interactive skincare demos and Q&A with advanced aesthetics skincare expert Valerie Osborne of Elysium Skincare Clinic, as well as a gorgeous Disaronno cocktail on arrival. It was such a wholesome night and we can’t wait for the next one.
And that's all from this month's edition of The Connacht Monthly. Thanks for stopping by!
