Does anyone bother to read anymore?
I recently saw this image posted on social media. I know it was meant as humor, but sadly it is very close to the truth, not just with social media posts, but with anything you post, including your website.
Here is a very real example. I have a client who sells items in her shop at a discounted price to “members.” In order to get the discounted price, you must of course be logged in as a member, otherwise you will pay retail for the products.
On every single product page a notice is displayed immediately about the add to cart button that clearly says, “Members receive discounted prices. Click to Login or Register for an account.
All too often, customers ignore this message and simply add the product to the cart.
