The Final Countdown
Nine.
That's how many more editions of The Job Journal you're going to get before I move this thing off of LinkedIn and...errr...somewhere else.
Why? Well, I'm acutely aware of how much of a monopoly LinkedIn has when it comes to the way I communicate with people and whilst I'll always be grateful for the opportunities that using it has afforded me, there's something about the way it's evolving that's making me uncomfortable.
The costs (for recruitment agencies at least) are becoming prohibitive, content reach is limited and the promotion of AI functionality leaves me wondering how the hell we're supposed to trust anything we read anymore.
Have I used AI to write this? Nope. But it looks like you're just going to have to take my word for it.
When I've decided where to host it I'll let you know but in the meantime if anyone has any recommendations for good newsletter platforms then I'm open to recommendations.
I guarantee that it'll be free (I mean, who the hell would pay for this shit?) and that it'll be me writing it.
I can't guarantee it'll be any good but if you've stuck with me this long then you know what to expect 😉
Much love,
John xxx
