Get Visible: The Busy Season Approaches

I just love real estate, and if I get to research and learn more about the industry and all the tools we can use to gain visibility & ultimately more clients, I'm all over it! 🙃

We're in the middle of what I hope is the last big winter storm here in Wasaga Beach, Ontario, with lots of ❄️ snow and freezing ☔️ rain - yuck! It sure doesn't feel like it where I'm sitting right now but spring 🌷really is right around the corner.

And you know what spring means, right? BUSY SEASON! (Yay! Bring it on! Gimme sellers! 🪧 Gimme buyers! 💳 w00t! w00t!)

What's happening today is a result of what you did 3-6 months ago. It's true. So, what have you been doing to ensure it truly is your busy season?

Well, if you've been lounging on your coach, 🛋️ binging all the latest shows and eating bonbons, 🍬 it's time to get a move on. THERE'S STILL TIME❗️

Today's newsletter is dedicated to getting yourself out there and seen by as many prospective clients as possible. Not only that, getting quality, helpful, entertaining, fun, educational, and informative things in front of them that has your personality and professionalism written all over it. And we're focusing on social media 💻 in this issue. Ready? Here we go...

Social Media Best Practices

  • This can't be stressed enough - don't just post for posting's sake. Be strategic in where, when and what you post.
  • Find out where your ideal clients hang out. It could be Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn but don't just assume, ASK. When you're doing your regular keep-in-touch connections, ask them which social media platform they use the most. Use that.

  • Select one or two of the most used platforms (don't try to be everywhere) and create a significant presence. Post consistently -- and not just promo, "I've got a new listing", "I'm #1 in XX county" kind of thing, use your content to educate, entertain, and inform. Use the 80/20 content rule: be helpful, funny, etc., 80% of the time, promote 20%.
  • Don't post and run. Be engaging. Promoting engagement with your followers and connections, allows them to better get to know, like and trust you - which leads to greater client-getting potential.
  • Create content that encourages engagement. There is one simple key to communicating with your audience in a way that increases engagement. That key is to shift the focus away from yourself and to your audience. Go from a monologue to a multi-directional audience-focused dialogue. Top strategies for engaging your audience:
