Hitachi Energy expands German transformer operations with over 30 million euros investment 

Hitachi Energy announced an investment of over 30 million euros (approx. $32 million) in expanding and modernizing its power transformer manufacturing facility in Bad Honnef, Germany. Projected for completion in 2026, it will create 100 new jobs in the region and address the rising demand for transformers to support Europe's clean energy transition. Operational since 1906, the facility is one of Hitachi Energy's key manufacturing locations in Europe.

Hitachi Energy and TransnetBW make German grid fit for future 

Hitachi Energy signed a major order with German state-owned transmission system operator TransnetBW to bolster renewable energy expansion and grid stability. Hitachi Energy will supply two Enhanced STATCOM1 stations with the next-generation grid stabilization technology, SVC Light® Enhanced, to TransnetBW, improving power quality in the transmission grid serving 11 million people and numerous industries.

Hitachi Energy and BAM to supply converter stations for Eastern Green Link 2 cable

GL2 will see the creation of a 525kV, 2GW HVDC subsea transmission cable from Peterhead in Scotland to Drax in England. The longest HVDC cable in the UK and the UK’s single largest electricity transmission project ever, providing enough electricity to power 2 million UK homes. Hitachi Energy is partnering with BAM to provide the engineering works and technology for the HVDC converter stations.
