The Holy Grail Of Marketing
Over the past 10 years, the health food gods have delivered a ton of tasty options to choose from.
Protein pasta…
Protein chips…
And the burning bush-level miracle that is Kodiak protein chocolate chip cookies. (Come on I am Santa Claus after all)
Overall, the new food options make it easier, tastier and require less effort to hit your macros and still enjoy what you’re eating.
Sometimes, however, the health food gods throw a monkey wrench into new foods just so that they can get a good laugh.
Take wheat bread for example.
Why this is considered an improvement over white bread is beyond me.
White bread has been around for 12,000 years…
And its roots can be traced back to ancient Egypt.
Back before I learned healthy facts I used to choke down wheat bread.
Why?
Because it was supposedly healthy for me.
Even though you look at the label compared to white bread… wheat is higher in calories and in carbs.
Today I eat white bread made by the Keto brand.
This bread is delicious, only 35 calories a slice, packed with protein and fiber.
In the world of digital marketing, there is also a new innovation that strikes me as less advantageous than what came before.
I’m talking about social media (new) compared to email (getting old).
Yes, social media allows you to stay visible and interact with people all over the world, quickly and easily, for free.
But if that’s all that existed, and somebody suddenly invented email, you’d be hopping up and down like an excited person on a diet who had just discovered Kodiak protein chocolate chip cookies.
Here is why email is better…
Sure, they are still there for anyone that wants to go searching.
But given the large number of posts that are made every day, they are essentially gone forever.
The fact of the matter is, most of your social media posts will never be seen by a majority of your followers.
Of course, these services do give you the option to be “notified,” so that you don’t miss any of the important stuff.
How do the notifications arrive?
Oh yeah… that’s right.
They use a more reliable, more noticeable approach… they send you an email!
The email inbox - keeps all of your messages there until you decide to delete them.
2. Email is more popular. You may check social regularly, but a majority of people check email a lot more often.
Recommended by LinkedIn
In fact, according to OptinMonster, 99% of people check their inbox every day, with some checking 20 times a day.”
Even I find that statistic a bit hard to believe (I’d be surprised if 99% of adults drink a gallon of water every day).
The point is, email is used constantly by everyone.
3. Nobody owns email. There are no “community guidelines,” the violation of which can get you banned from your social media accounts forever.
There are no mysterious algorithms deciding which of your posts are seen by which of your followers.
Email is a completely distributed system with nobody in charge.
One in which the only people who get to decide if a message is worth seeing are the ones who are on the receiving end of the message.
Plus, if tomorrow you decide that you no longer like your email vendor (MailChimp for example) just download your list and move it over to one of the hundreds of other vendors out there.
Social Media?
Well, you can leave if you want to.
But the contacts you’ve spent months and years building are not coming with you.
Here’s The Real Deal
Unlike wheat bread, the good news with email and social media is that you don’t need to pick one over the other.
In fact, I’ve noticed in my 5 years in marketing they work extremely well together.
But, if you only have time to do one well, you should definitely pick the one that’s going to grow your business the quickest.
And in my experience that’s email marketing.
If you’re struggling to make your emails stand out in today’s cluttered inboxes…
And your open rates and click-through rates are low…
And your emails are going straight to promotions or even worse… spam…
I understand the challenges you face, and I’m here to help you overcome them.
With my help, you can transform your email marketing into a powerhouse of engagement and conversions…
Which includes high open rates, high click-through rates, and your emails always landing in the primary inbox.
To get my help all you have to do is send me a DM with the words EMAIL MARKETING.
Speaking about direct messages I better go.
The Green Goats just left me a message on the fridge…
Saying since it’s heating up outside they were headed to Artic Circle to get some ice cream…
And that they didn’t have any money…
But they figured the workers there would give them ice cream if they threatened to kick the fainting goat in the face.
I better go stop them before they scare those poor Artic Circle workers.
Remember, if your struggling to make your emails stand out send me a direct message with the words EMAIL MARKETING.
Have a great Tuesday!

1yAll great points Bobbie, I am working on how to utilize my email more effectively. It took me forever to get used to SM. Now that I'm there, I'll need to do a mind shift for email again. :)
