The Jigsaw Model

Jigsaws have gained in popularity during the COVID lock down period, which sparked this imagery for me. It might make a good coaching tool. What do you think? Comments are invited.

What do you have? What do you need?

Start with the straight pieces (that's the easy part) Ask yourself:

Physiological

1. Are you well?

2. Are you strong?

3. Do you eat three meals a day?

4. Do you have a bed?

5. Do you sleep for at least 6 hours a night?

Safety

1. Do you have a home?

Belonging and Love

1. Are you loved by at least one person?

2. Do you feel like you belong with at least one group?

Esteem

1. Are you respected by at least one person?

2. Do you respect yourself?

Self Actualisation

1. Can you think of at least one activity that satisfies, fulfills and makes you feel happy?

All the ‘Yeses’ make straight pieces.

If they all connect, are you happy? If not, what do you think is missing?

Do you need to make your jigsaw bigger? Making the jigsaw larger creates larger gaps, more spaces to fill. Do you want a bigger life? Is there more that you want to achieve?

If you make your world bigger, you will want and need to fill the gaps. Think bigger.

The pieces in the middle of the jigsaw make up the complexity of your life – the details, the meat, the grist, the flavor.

What is needed to fulfill you?
